Title: So I know this couple in Lawrence . . .
Post by: KansasForever on August 24, 2008, 06:15:52 PM
who graduated from K-State and are hard core KSU fans.  He grew up in Lawrence and she's from Lenexa.  Total upper middle class suburbanites to the core.  The problem is because they went to K-State they think they are somehow rural.

So they go all Rousseau and buy a farm and move out into the country.  Of course they have no clue what they are doing.  They buy a bunch of chickens, I guess because they assume that's what good K-State farmers do.  Unfortunately, they've never actually lived out in the country, didn't lock up the chicken coop, and the coyotes completely ravaged them in the course of a night.  Chicken carcasses and feathers everywhere.  So a few dozen chickens later, they finally figure out they have to secure the coop.

Anyway, the wife works with my wife, so every now and then I get to hear these stories of these lifetime suburbanites bumbling through country life.  Since I actually did grow up in the country, I have to LMAO off at them from time to time.

That people who think they're something they're not to live out a preconceived stereotype of who they think they are/want to be are funny.

So long as they're enjoying themselves more power to 'em.

Coyotes are usually skinny pathetic looking little things, it's nice that your friends are fattening theirs up.

Interesting.....and your a ku fan, soooooooo yeah I'm not disagreeing with you but I just find it interesting being a KC transplant and observing my clients and their university loyalties. I would say there are fewer KSU city folk trying to be humble or rural  than solid middle class ku folk acting elite and superior( which is essentially the heart and soul of Johnson County, hell the fact that I had to learn to differentiate people by county speaks volumes).

Sounds like most ku fans I know who attempted to be football fans last fall.  Pretty funny listening to them try and talk college football and watch them try to conduct a tailgate or an all day drinking binge.

If this dude is really EMAW, he will get a few tough dogs to kill the coyotes or get a spotlight and a 30-30.  problems solved.

I would use poison chickens to kill the coyotes. Also, landmines. And this thread sucks.

I think coyotes are cute.  I would make them my pets and train them to protect the chickens.  Also I would train them to catch frisbees.

LOL.

Some pretty defensive people here.  Nothing says awesome like people taking the time to tell you how irrelevant your thread is.

That sounds pretty liberal.

Couldn't agree more.

Maybe "helper coyotes?"  You know, for blind kids and stuff.

You are confusing coyotes for the north american red fox or possibly a timber wolf.

coyotes =  :yuck:

red foxes =  :lick:

timber wolf =  :jeffy:

So long as they're enjoying themselves, spending their own money, receiving no government handsouts, not prohibiting other's rights to marry, not forcing the display and oration of worship materials from a particular religious sect in public institutions on others, not circumventing other civil liberties' with fabricated executive privileges, and refraining from invading sovereign nations under false pretenses more power to 'em.

That sounds pretty liberal.

Better?    :billypopcorn: :eyeseeyou:

Better....now.   :beerchug:
