Prince has played seven (7) teams that have FINISHED the season ranking in the top 15 in his two seasons. By contrast, Mangino has played 2.

that settles it, we're better than ku!

It's not that simple.
-
He has yet to win alot of games against teams that have finished with really good records and/or rankings.
You can't take away Virginia Tech because they were good last year and ku beat them straight up.
Mangino is a good coach but I'm still skeptical that he wins 10+ games the rest of his career and makes BCS bowls.
ku is no longer the doormat no doubt but last year was fluke. It'll be shown.

you are a &@#%ing retard. honestly. you are a &@#%ing tool if you think that VaTech was good.

weren't they ranked like #3?

Laughable....their ranking was almost as inflated as ku's.
They beat an overrated BC and Virginia. Their one good win all season was at No. 22 Clemson. Couple that with the fact that the ACC is a stellar 1-10 in BCS bowls, and I think we can dismiss any notions that VaTech was good last year - certainly not top ten quality.
-
Notice how squawktards are sounding more and more cornhole fan like:
Oh, with their small backs they'll never be able to block ________ and _______ coming in on a blitz . . .
-
Both ku and vtech were good last year and anyone that says otherwise prob needs to lay off the :koolaid:

ya know what's laughable? trying to downplay a team that went 12-1 and won the orange bowl. it makes you look pretty stupid. that's just imo.

They had a great season, very smoke and mirrorish, but well played smoke and mirrorish . . . and Tech was pretty good, overrated as per usual, but still good.
I still can't figure out the love affair ESPN has with VT . . . any thoughts??

i didn't post this really to degrade ku. everyone here knows i don't think ku is a 1 year fluke, and their season last year was legit. saying otherwise is insanely hypocritical.
it was posted to show how difficult of a schedule ron is givng himself. there is no reason to play that many top 15 teams.

QFT. Help yourself out Ronald. Christ, the dude comes in to a program that just went from the DoD penthouse to the Baylor sh*thouse the previous 2 years and then goes out and scheduled a UL team that just went 9-3 in '05 and started out the 2006 year preseason top 15....and then after 2006 decides to schedule f'ing auburn who just went 11-2 in '06 and was preseason '07 top 15/20. scary f'ing stupid, imo.

generally agree...does show though what can happen if everything goes right for a season. i.e. easy schedule, no injuries, win all close games, ect. i will say though mizzou should have been in the orange bowl so uk got lucky there.

1. Tech is always good and Frank Beamer is quite handsome
2. They (unlike a lot of schools) will give up Saturday home games to be on tv.
-
That settles it, Mangino IS smarter than Prince.
MM took the hard earned lessons from the master and put 'em to use, while RP has spent his time trying to get the media to like us.
Need to switch a few pages in that three-ring binder.

Last year it was because of the campus shooting they had. ESPN played that up every chance they got. Va Tech was a good team but had average to below QB play. They beat ku in every other area but their QB play doomed them in that game.
ku was good last year shows you what can happen when everything comes together. It also shows you how important the psychology of winning is and how stupid Prince's scheduling is. The more you win the more confident you get and the better you become. It feeds and builds on itself that is pretty obvious in college football. Moral victories over top 20 teams on the road don't help you later in the season despite what Ronald says.
-
lets focus on 2008 fellas.
ku's run is over and I don't think they win more than 7-8 games this year. They'll be sniffing MU's ass in the standings all year all the while making excuses as to why Arrowhead just is too far of a road game to bother traveling.
Kstate will most likely make 6-6 and still sell DVD's about it. We'll make a small bowl out in El Paso or Shreveport and I'll be one of the first to buy one up.
