Sure, I have a soft spot for May, Dies, Groves, Seibrandt, and reid....but they are hardly "fav's"

You have to be good to be a favorite.

Darren Kent is quickly becoming my most hated of all-time. colon close.

If you push me enough, I may put Walker above Beasley. His attitude on the court was out of this world awesome.

The Chalmers elbow, throwing the ball at him, the technicals, the screaming  of "AND ONE!".....damn I'll miss it.

I assume you are defining "era" = "far back as you can remember independently taking a personal interest in the team to present time"

1. Mitch - pretty much started it all for me...was an awesome pro too
2. Martin - Huge softspot for him because he came to KSU when there when it completely defied any logic or reason.
3. Beaz - Best player in KSU history
4. Henson - Robin to Mitch's Batman
5. Massey - Fun to watch.  Euro youtubes have boosted stock
6. Walker -  :eyeseeyou:
7. Hatcher - Last top flight guard in a K-State uniform (Clemente?  :hope:)
8. Davis - Workhorse
9. Hoskins - Perimeter player with a post game, not a post player with a perimeter game.   :curse:   :peek:
10. Coleman - Probably underated here, but I was barely aware at the time.

My memories of Nealy and Ro are much more based in watching them as pros.  I was too young to really pay attention when they played in college.  Zero memory of Evans or Williams.

i gave Ro a "what's up Ro" once in the hallway in Eisenhower when he came back to work on his degree (i think he was working on his masters maybe?).  he looked shocked someone recognized him, smiled, waved, and kept walkin.

sup Ro?

1. Massey (Dunking on white dudes from texas and flexing)
2. Walker (16 and 9 as a frosh while getting zero calls from any ref, high bbiq, ksu fans need to stop hating this guy)
3. Beas (insane numbers, super efficient, should have played to his immature/bad boy rep to move up my list)
4. Hoskins = beast
5. Akeem Wright (most versatile player we have had since i've been watching ksu bball)
6. Cartier - silky smooth
7. Reid (OG of my KSU basketball experiences)

1.  RO -- could do ANYTHING...a defensive stopper and a clutch scorer
2.  Evans -- could have averaged 30 easily in the 3-point era
3.  Williams -- ditto
4.  Beasley -- simply the most talented (by far) player ever at KSU.  Wish we could have played at least one more year
5.  Mitch -- didn't get to see many KSU games on the east coast at the time, but a great pro
6.  Ed Nealy -- an over achiever (a slightly less talented Hansbrough), famously stepped on Stipanovich
7.  Walker -- the first superstar recruit
8.  Ty Adams -- a very smooth player; I would have liked to see him play under a less restrictive coach
9.  Jari Wills -- used to party with that guy, fun to watch on the court
10. Cartier -- another smooth player
11. Massey -- only saw him play one game, maximum effort
12. Hoskins -- would have made last year's team a 25-28 win elite eight team
13. Coleman -- not bad for an old dude
14. Henson -- again, didn't get to see many games, but looked like an all-madden type
15. Redding -- the Hawks HATED him... I loved it

I remember Anthony Beane hit that runner in the lane in '94 to beat us at AFH.  B*stard.  My brother and I had just played a junior high basketball game and were on the bus ride home at the time with the game on the radio.  Bus was split about half and half.  This was back before the two schools took turns destroying each other in one sport only.  Got home just in time to see Beane hit the game winner.

He and Ski were a load.  How the hell did they not make the NCAA Tournament that year?

Surprised at the lack of love for Gilson DeJesus...dude used to rain treys.  Also always kinda liked Tony Kitt and Shawn Rhodes for whatever reason.  Kinda hard to forgive Rhodes for bricking the wide open game tying three in the bram against ku though...

There was more research done on this thread than all of the 2007 academic year at KSU.  Tough to come up with names when you just started paying attention last year.

I have no particular order, but I'll call my era the time from when I first really started paying attention to K-State until when I left Manhattan:

-Ro  (just a superior basketball player and his NBA career clearly defined that he was)

-Eddie Nealy (textbook rebounder, nice touch from the floor)

-Lonnie Kruger  (maybe one of the smartest players I've saw play for K-State, great athlete as well)

-Steve Soldner (workman inside player that I still say K-State is missing, that 10-10 guy who plays great defense and is just tough)

-Mike Evans  (He'd still own the conference scoring title if they had the 3 point line, period, end of discussion . . . Evans used to drain turn around jumpers from 2 feet beyond the current 3 point line).

-Chuckie Williams:  Another really good shooter, and just a good player

-Tyrone Adams: Nice touch from the corner

-Tim Jankovich:  Poor man's Steve Alford.

-Mitch Richmond:  Inside, outside, on the boards . . . my only knock on Mitch and I really blame this on Kruger is that he tried to do to much at times.  It's a shame that Norris Coleman and Lonnie didn't get along.  Imagine that 1988 team WITH Norris Coleman.

-Will Scott:  Almost a tragedy we didn't get him until he already had 2 years of Juco ball, just a sweet ass stroke from beyond the arc.

-Charlie Bledsoe:  Another workhorse 10-10 guy who could finish around the basket with authority.

At the time, was there ever more disappointment in how Brian Henson turned out?  Steve Henson was the stuff and then his brother, who most agreed was more athletic, showed up and just sucked for a couple years before heading to Washburn to finish up.  '88 was a great year (I was 10).  My list:

1.  Henson
2.  Richmond
3.  Beasley
4.  Ski
5.  Massey
6.  Beane
7.  Hatcher
8.  Norris Coleman
9.  Massop (based on one tip-in alone) game was amazing, spent most of the time yelling at Peeler.

Henson on 07-08 KSU probably equals a trip to the at least to the elite eight.  Henson is probably the non-loser-est player from the past twenty years at KSt.  Hated to lose as much, if not more, than Bishop...wouldn't be denied.  On another note, I found a couple b&w 8x10's signed by Michael Smith and Frank Hernandez for me when I was just a small emaw

These men sum up my Kansas State Basketball passion.  They were eminently hecklable, they were lovable losers, they were hilarious to see in person trying to finesse the ladies with tales of Big 12 first round nailbiters and 6 n 10 seasons.

At an Altman camp I was at, Mitch Richmond and Jeff Wires returned.  Mitch coached our 5 man squad to the champ. game...where we lost.  Good times spending a few hours a day w/ a (in my mind at the time) a legend.  He also drilled about 25 three's in a row while casually talking to the whole group of campers about staying in school or something equally boring...we were all busy counting the consecutive bombs.  Wires impressed everybody by hammering home a couple of pretty sick dunks and I don't think he cleared 5'10".

Give me Donnie Wallace anyday.

QFT.

I loved KSU f-ball at the time ( ), but there was just something about being one of the 50 or so students who showed up for EVERY game and really thought that maybe, just maybe every game might be an 'OSU-ranked-in-the-top-10-coming-to-Manhattan-on-a-Saturday-when-there's-ice-and-snow-and-no-one-shows-up-and-KSU-inexplicably-wins-by-a-ton' type game.

I definitely thought Megan Mahoney, Kendra Wecker, and Laurie Koehn were studs in a certain era.

But seriously I'd have to go with my favorties being:

Massey
Hoskins
Beasley
Cartier
Walker
Wright
Pullen
With a hints of Atchison, Siebrandt, Buchannon, and Reid

oh and no love for THE Ryan Patzwald?
