Title: Old Speckled Hen
Post by: QuinnMac on August 02, 2008, 09:13:38 PM
Went to the liquor store tonight, wanted to try a six pack of something new.  It is a very fine ale, that has a dry taste.  They are very good, but I didn't realize it was $ 11.80 for six of them until I was checking out.  Although good this will probably be my last encounter with the Old Speckled Hen for quite some time.

Anyone else tried it or have other Ale suggestions?

Odells IPA. Best IPA/beer out there imo.

What kind of beer do you like? Ale is a very, very large category of beer.

Blind Tiger in Topeka has one seasonally called Smokey the Beer.  As you can probably guess, it has a smoky taste.  You think its kind of odd at first, then it grows on you.  Goes great with brisket.

Natty 6 pack of pounders now $5 flat after tax. Goes down smooth, comes up smoother.

Goose Island IPA is good if you're into that sort of thing.

Pour it in a pint glass and challenge a Bud Light drinker to tell you the difference between Nat Light and Bud Light.  It's impossible.

Nat Light is to Bud Light, as generic acetaminophen is to Tylenol....it's the same, bitches!

exactly, they both taste like watery sh*t water.  it's sad when you would prefer a beer from a can so that you might at least get the metallic/aluminum taste, rather than no taste at all.
