Do you think this is what people were thinking during the Beasley decision?
If this goes down, WOW. Okie State I might could see (for tradition mainly). But the Bears snagging #1. Oh my.

1 and dones go to schools to leave a mark and for marketing more than traditional powers.

sure about that?
Eric Gordon- Indiana
Kevin Love- UCLA
Donte Green- Syracuse
Jerryd Bayless- Arizona
Kevin Durant- Texas
Brandan Wright- UNC
Thaddeus Young- Ga. Tech
Marvin Williams- UNC
Chris Paul- Wake Forest
(not to mention a handful of 2 and dones that went to powerhouses)
usually, one and dones go to places where they have a chance to compete for a championship in that one year. sometimes they aren't national powers- oden and conley to ohio state, mayo to usc, beasley- but thats pretty rare.
really the only reasons a player goes somewhere out of the blue is:
a) it's in-state or close to home and they're already a household name
b) a coach or someone of influence in their life goes to that school
your point is true in some circumstances, but rarely are players that interested in putting some place on the map.

you're not at all surprised that a team with records like this over the past years (below) snagged the nations top prospect? not to mention the bans as well. i just didn't know aau coaches were so influential. that, or i was just hoping dalonte was the only "chosen one".
