I'm a Chiefs fan but people saying they will make the playoffs are freaking smoking crack. They will be terrible. I'll be thrilled if they can find a way to go .500. I like Herm but it's a going to take a couple of years before he gets his guys in there and everyone adapts to his style. I think Herm will take the Chiefs deep in the playoffs if we can just be patient awhile.

Does your confidence in Herm Edwards come from his stunning 39-41 regular season head coaching record, or is it his 41-44 overall record as head coach that does it for you.  I'd love to understand your analysis better, help me feel good about this mediocre hire, please.

Edwards had nothing to work with.  Kinda like Larry Brown except a lot less F-ed up.  SI.

Herm went to the playoffs 3 times in 5 years.  His crapty seasons were mostly due to injuries, IMO.

I was watching the Chiefs training camp on the NFL Channel ... my son's Pop Warner team does more hitting then those guys do.

What are  you talking about? Herm's practices are soft as beer@#%$.

I don't know how soft '@#%$e.' is so I guess I'll just have to assume they're pretty soft. I was talking more about their attitudes in general. Herm is hard nosed, Vermiel cries like a b!tch when he changes his socks. The Chiefs are old. Intense, hard hitting practices would have half the roster on the PUP list.
As I said before, Herm needs to get his type of guys in here.

Why are people so critical of the Chiefs :(

Larry Johnson is going to run wild this season.  The defense...will improve.  It has to.

Larry Johnson doesn't have one the best o-lines in the league blocking for him anymore and bringing in aging veterans isn't going to make the desired impact on defense and it's a short term solution at best. I hope you're right but I don't see it happening. The Chiefs have been disappointing me my whole life and I've finally realized that "optimism" and "Chiefs" don't belong in the same sentence. Unless you're saying "I have no optimism regarding the upcoming Chiefs season".

I want to be optimistic but I have alot of questions.  How is the D to improve significantly this year?  New coach and assistant D staff for Gun- OK, maybe that helps the attitude, Ty Law is an upgrade, otherwise, we have added a smallish, rookie defensive end and 2 backup safeties.  We already have one smallish D end that teams can run at, and Derrick Johnson who runs around blocks.  Cover 2?  Yeah, all I've heard about Cover 2 is that you must have a good pass rush to run this well...

Offensively, Roaf out, Richardson gone...everyone else a year older.  Oh yeah, we'll run ball control.  Let's see, ball control teams usually win by playing field position and having a strong defense...I'm hoping they don't ground the offense too much because we will still need to score 20+ points to win and we can't just tell people what we are going to do and be successful with Big Willie not on the line.

I want to be optimistic, but I did not see the changes in the off-season that convinced me the team would be improved much...even before Richardson left and Roaf retired.

Haters.

Chiefs win the Governers cup.  The first half..we looked good.  Defense really stuffed Stephen Jackson, and put pressure on Bulger.
