Post by: Pett on July 17, 2008, 08:50:26 PM
Anyone going to see this tonight?? I am.....and the biggest reason why I'm going to see it is because of all of the hype. We'll see....

I'll have a full update tomorrow morning sometime. :-*

I wish I could make it tonight.  But I am going tomorrow night to see it.  I will have to skip out on your review tomorrow and read it when I get home or on Saturday morning.  I don't want it to spoil my movie.  I am very very excited to see it.

Not sure if it will be good. Supposed to be very dark and grave movie.

I hate going to movies on opening night.  Movie theaters are so annoying when they're full of people.

I can't go to movie theaters period.

1.  They smell like a mix of vomit, urine and pee
2.  The floor is always ALWAYS sticky
3.  The seat you sit in is full of farts
4.  There is sometimes people ther by you that are gross/smelly
5.  People say stuff that ruin the movie like "LOL" or "Cry"
6.  Costs money (BITTORENT FTW!)
7.  Weird feeling while walking out of movie in crowd where you feel like you need to say something about the movie to whoever you are with but you are crammed into the exit with people and it sucks because you hate people.
8.  Etc.

that's the only one I really agree with. The worst is when you don't even know what just happened, and you don't have wiki to save you.

I really hated the rest of your post though. Just follow catdude33's advice, and 1-4 should be eliminated. #5 is the best! Watching "shaft" w/a black crowd was great! Watching snakes on a plane w/a hispanic crowd was even better!

I wiki every movie right after I see it, even if I knew what happened, to see if I missed anything.  How did people live without the internet?

Wow is all I am going to say as of now. Incredible movie. Very long but was entertaining throughout the entire 160 minutes.

This was the first time I've been to a midnight showing. And yes, that part sucked. Seriously, people cheering and clapping after a big scene or funny part in the movie? Could only happen in a theater @ midnight filled with people dressed like the joker/batman.

And no joke....Heath's acting as the joker was nothing short of amazing. It was crazy, the best performance I've ever seen.

I'm with SD.  Movies in theaters are horrendous.  In fact, reading this last night I was trying to remember the last one I went to.  FFF's post reminded me - 2001's Pootie Tang (with black crowd)!

two face isn't done, imo. there has to be a next one, they left too many loose ties.  i was thinking more joker in the next movie....but ya.  the only actor i could think of that could get even close to the performance of ledger would be dicaprio, imo.

Ya, I could see the Penguin in the next one.  As someone else brought up the joker, I don't think you could do the joker with anyone else but Heath Ledger.  And that isn't happening.  I can kinda picture two-face coming back.  I'm kinda excited for the next one too.

The director has gone on record as saying the Penguin is too hard of a character to portray in the Batmans they're doing because they're taking a more real-life approach to the movies. Gary Oldman has said that the Riddler is likely the next villain in the franchise.

*Spoiler Alert*

They killed off Two Face, he's not likely to come back into the series. If they thought they would use him later on they would have left it open instead of having him die in the end.
