Just up on the website, ESPN decided to take a look at 8 cities over the last decade who have been the best prep basketball hotbeds.
Featured cities include Seattle, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, and Baltimore/DC.
The article even states, "Players are designated based on their hometowns and not necessarily the high school they played for."
So speaking of Baltimore/DC, anybody jump to mind who WASN'T on the list????!!!!??!?!!
Keith Bogans (DeMatha, 1999)
Kevin Durant (Montrose Christian, 2006)
Jeff Green (Northwestern, 2004)
Rudy Gay (Archbishop Spalding, 2004)
Carmelo Anthony (Oak Hill, 2002)
6th Man- Linas Kleiza (Montrose Christian, 2003)
Here's a hint (and he isn't pleased)...

don't take this the wrong way but whining about stupid meaningless crap like this is way less important than discussing deli meats. feel free to join our conversation in the endzone dive

I don't understand folks who get all up in arms about stuff like this rather than realizing the obvious, which is that even big-name, dominant news organizations like ESPN have some employees who write poorly researched garbage just before their deadlines to collect paychecks. Simma down NAH.

Its more amazing that they forgot Indianapolis as one of the top prep cities. They've got three top-7 picks in the last two years and four lottery picks in the last three years. I realize Beasley should be on the team, but how do you leave out a whole city. New York has lost a lot of its luster too.

let it go.

its not whining because i go to kstate and all i think about is beasley and how he should win every honor, but more the fact that he's just been everywhere lately so its hard to believe he didn't cross their minds. it was an interesting piece i found, thats all. plus, had it not been for me, we all know somebody else would've posted it anyway. so, i guess i'll take blame this time.

no one is blaming anyone, i think the point is that waging a full scale attack on espn.com's basketball analysts because they left beasley off of one of their stupid lists is dumb.

Probably because the players mentioned went to uk Texas, GTOWN, UCONN and Cuse instead of the college basketball hotbed of Kansas State

god you are so f*cking lame.

I think we need to stop and realize that media attention will help our basketball program immensely and the fact that Beasley got skipped over because he went to ksu is no fluke. There are plenty of people going to bat for him on espn. But I must ask if not this then what will you wedge a full scaled attack on ESPN for saying light beer is better then dark beer. Beasley has been disrespected his whole career and I'm sick of it maybe it was his "discipline issues" that did not allow him to make this list.

Dude, it's because of where we live. ku trashed everybody's unanimous #1 in the Final Four and almost no one gave us a chance against Memphis. You get used to it.
I have to admit though, the thought of the entire country sobbing themselves to sleep as Kansas and Memphis took turns destroying a UCLA-North Carolina title game still makes me smile.

Obviously K-State is better then UCONN

True but your still the University of Kansas a tradititonal basketball powerhouse. Were K-state the school that Mike Beasley went to. Where is K-state anyway says most media people.
