That didn't work for me.
I still find it weird that this guys 'sin' was covered up so well until now and I still haven't heard how old his victim was.

He's been on the sex offender list for quite a while now. And when he was recruited to play at Kstate how did they not know about him being convicted for this?

He's been on the list since the end of May, translated for idiots that although they are in college, enjoy cartoons, that equates to approximately 11 weeks. You're saying that KSU covered this up. Knowing as you do that the KS Sex Offender list is public domain, in what way would KSU be able to participate in the "cover up"? This isn't one of your idiotic anime cartoons Goldylocks, no one hacked into the KS's website where sex offenders register and hid Hughes' name from appearing. Instead of tossing mud like you prefer :ku: why don't you further explain your "cover up" theory.

They covered it up. Just like Evangelion.

So you're saying for 11 weeks Kstate couldn't figure out one of their players was on the sex offender list available to everyone with access to the internet?
You're saying that no one at Kstate knew anything at all about his CONVICTION as a sex offender?
If they didn't know, Ksu sure was awfully slow to jump on this situation. The timing is just way off.
Why?

Blame Thugridge.

Can we please get back to the top of this thread?
Celebrating the good times with Tyler Hughes.

Guess our AD doesn't feel the need to monitor the sex offenders list to see if our players show up....that must be one of those ku things.
You might want to brush up on your knowledge of our legal system. Since it happened before he was 18 the records are sealed. The only way KSU finds out about it is if Tyler told us.

fix your video.

What's wrong? Does it not download, or not play?
I don't want to youtube it, because the quality is crappy.

Perhaps you missed the quote by the DA saying it took 3 years for the charges to come to light...
Being that you obsess so much, however, I doubt you missed that and are merely being a dumbass.
-
I think Tyler is getting a shi!!y deal. We needed his depth this year. I wish things would have turned out different...best of luck Tyler, hopefully you can move on from this without much trouble. Best of luck.
-
Judging by what his dad said and the crime i assume its prob like a 17 yr old guy with a 16 yr old girl and some pissed off parents. Tyler got a raw deal and I wonder if things would've been different if Wooly was still the coach. They wouldn't be so worried about a bad image and the media would hardly give a crap. Regardless, best of luck to Hughes and hopefully he finds another school to finish playing ball at. I also think its something the athletics department shouldve found out during recruiting but it wasn't a cover up, just poor research into recruits.

It just seems too tightly guarded for 3 years under wraps and another 11 weeks on a list available to the world.
The timing is off.

Please understand, our administration has been busy with covering up the JFK assasination, UFO's/Aliens, Elvis, 2pac, Ken Lay, etc, etc.

wefald got all the wmds out of iraq.
its true.

While Weiser said he knew nothing of the incidents or charges until Saturday afternoon, he said at least portions of the incidents were known by members of the Jim Wooldridge coaching staff at the time of Hughes' recruitment out of Olathe North High School.
http://www.wildcatdaily.com/view/article.asp?sectionid=Home/News&id=248-2006-08-15-47561-57
Also:
The Mercury has learned from Johnson Country District Attorney Paul Morrison that there were two victims, both males and under the age of 14, and that Hughes pled guilty to a single charge.
-
Jim Wooldridge is a scumbag.
-
If Weiser knew nothing of it until Saturday....how would he know if JW or his staff knew anything about it?
And, if the case is closed, how did they confirm anything about the case with the DA?
-
Goldy = concerned
-
....and I still haven't heard how old his victim was.
Brings back those repressed memories of late nights, anime playing loudly on the tv in the other room, and the knock on the bedroom door from Naismith, huh?
-
uh, if tyler was really molesting little boys, then i'm really &@#%ing glad he is gone.
but i don't understand how that could get out if the case is sealed.

How often do you check out the KBI's sex offender list on the 'Net? Is it one of your homepage tabs in Firefox?

Considering how snoopy some people are I find it hard to believe that not a single one saw it. There weren't many names on that list for Riley and he sticks out.
-
Considering how snoopy some people are
Try to be more generic with your reasoning. Really.
-
Please bury your head in the sand some more please.
-
What would I be hiding from? I don't give a f*ck about Tyler Hughes, and in this issue Kansas State University did exactly the right thing.
-
Eventually yes... but what took so long?
Wooly knew portions of it when he was recruiting him. They brushed that off and didn't keep watch at all?
-
GoldieGangBang's obsession with KSU continues.
What don't you understand about the concept of Wooldridge's staff not informing the athletic administration at KSU of Hughe's issue ... an issue of a SEALED court case??
You are beyond an idiot.

Wooly wouldn't have known anything at all about it if it was air tight sealed now would he?
And why did Wooly not tell Weiser? (He probably did, Weiser is just throwing Wooly under the bus)
And why did Wooly not keep an eye on it?
And why did it take so long to do the right thing and 'sever all ties' with the man?
-
And why did Wooly not tell Weiser?
Yeah, that IS strange, considering the superb relationship Weiser and Wooldridge had... :jerkoff:
-

Wooly would be asking for trouble for himself if he didn't even mention it.
-
You have about 10% of the Story GoldenTard ... but you think you know everything.
You so real world stupid, its shocking.
-
So whats the other 90%?
-
I don't know .... and neither do you Mr. Obsessed with KSU.
-
So you admit that 90% of the situation is unknown while at the same time bash me for asking why some of the pieces don't fit...
You're good.
-
What pieces are you referring to that don't fit?
Oh ya, that's right, the one's you know nothing about.
GG.
-
How can you possibly deduce that "pieces don't fit" from what we know.
If you really think it wouldn't be possible for a coaching staff to keep something like this hidden from an athletic administration then you're absolutely stupid.
A case that's not getting any public play at all, court documents that are sealed, and a coaching staff that didn't tell their bosses about any possible issues with a recruit.
Plus, do you honestly think athletic administrators and coaches sit there and say, "gosh better go check the sex offenders database today, to see if any of our guys are on it" ... people in those positions just don't think like that ya dumbass.

Wooly knew portions of what happened. Why would they not keep an eye on it or end the recruitment altogether?
How can you say 'Ksu handled it all as well as possible' and then say 'I don't know 90% of what happened'?
-
Ah ... Wooly isn't around anymore in case you missed that, and you honestly believe that AD's micro-manage the recruting process of their coaches. Nobody had even heard of Tyler Hughes outside of the KSU coaches, so unless there was some sort of noted issue with the kid, it's highly likely any issue like this could be hidden from athletic administrators.
You're so desperate to want to pin something on somebody that you're just flailing away now.
-
This dude I work with claims to be tight with the Hughes family. This is probably total BS cuz this guy is usually full of crap but he claims Tyler was involved in a hazing incident involving tampons and freshman boys. You fill in the blanks. If this dude right (and I doubt he is) then this crap is being blown way out of proportion.
-
Well, somebody on another board said the same thing, only it was Icy Hot and all kinds of crap like that on genetalia.
The Freshman involved didn't say anything until some parents overheard them talking about it, they got all ticked off, pressed the JoCo DA hard to prosecute to the fullest extent etc. etc. etc.
It's one POSSIBLE scenario that I've heard.
-
Does Olathe North have freshman?
-
I don't know.
I've read two seperate people say that it was a hazing incident involving doing gross hazing type stuff with icy hot and such.
I want to believe that Wooldridge didn't say anything because it involved something like that, rather then some of the other stuff that's being alleged by Internet posts.
-
Does Olathe North have freshman?
Nope, 10-12
-
The stuff about the icy hot may be close. The dude who told me about says it was basically dipping tampons in hot sauce and then making the young guys stick them where the sun don't shine. That kind of stuff is stupid and cruel, but not worth the greif that Tyler is getting. Getting kicked off the team for something that happened years ago is BS IMO.
-
Hmmm. If they don't have freshman then that probably means the story I heard is wrong which is no suprise considering the source. Maybe it was on some sports team Tyler played on? Who knows but I think you guys should take it easy on the guy since no one knows what really happened.

Kind of a non-issue around here. It is more of an issue on the ku board, and other, crappy, K-state board. We aren't too concerned with losing a 1.8 ppg player.
