What are you talking about? The only people that even remotely deserved a chance at the AS team are Soria (The Mexicutioner), Grienke, DDJ, Guillen, and possibly Mahay. Outside of that, nobody is better than average.

each team gets one player picked so no one is a sissy and gets all emotional and feels left out. he's a pity pick up. he's damn good...but when the AL starting line up has 6 from NY and BOS, i just dont care anymore.

David DeJesus is among the league leaders in batting average and he has a .475 batting average with runners in scoring position. Much more deserving than Jose. (that's not even including the "team player" argument)
