How did my boy look in practice?

Dylan is pretty easy on the eyes as well.

Freeman is a freak. I agree with your reasoning to start him...I'm just blinded by Dylan love.

He outperformed Meier today.

Freeman looks like a guy who could play on sundays.  I do want to see him facing some blitzes, take a facemask in the chest, etc.

Would you rather have him take his first blindside hit with the game tied vs. Illinois State or down 10 vs. Louisville?

Its clear he's Prince's guy.  Meier better be far better (which I don't think will happen) to beat him out, and even if DM starts, Freeman should get meaningful snaps.  JF will start at least one of the first 3 games IMO.

Are there many examples of true freshmen stating from day one?

Not at KSU that I remember.

I will add that Freeman is the closest thing Prince has to Beasley.  JF will play a lot this year.  I anticipate him breaking most, if not all frosh passing records this seaaon.  Of course we could still end up 4-8 or something even if that happens.  I'm optimisticly hoping for 6-6 or 7-5.

He's not a true Freshman.

Been in the system a while.  Almost a redshirt F.

He graduated early.   may know the system real well.

Cool report boys.

If Prince is smart he will play Freeman AND Meier half of the first 2 non con games.

Freeman needs reps to get Div I experience.

Meier hasn't taken a game snap since 2005.

They both need reps and then we can decide who's the one to start by bigger games like Louisville.

Meier has the tools and fits this WCO very well. The problem is that Freeman is just one unique individual.

And RUSTY......your avatar deserves a standing ovation. Freeman even takes studly photos.

Chad Henne started game one as a true freshman.  Granted, Michigan had a much better supporting cast, but they still beat Miami-OH 43-10.  They only had 274 yards of total offense.

Reggie Ball at Georgia Tech started first game as a true freshman, no?  Weren't Eric Ainge & Brett Schaeffer true freshman when they started a few years back?  Granted, they both rotated in game #1...but I think Ainge was similar in that he came on-board in Knoxville in the spring before his freshman year.

All pretty good examples.

Chris Leak rotated with other QB's as a true freshman.

It's a little different situation, but there is Shaun Carney over at Air Force as well.

If you really want to go into true freshman just playing in the opener I would imagine it's a much longer list.  Immediately I remember Brian Brohm rotated with Stefan LeFlors in their opener a few years back.

Does this mean Prince isn't smart?

If we fail with Freeman, at least we can say that we tried.  Watching Dylan take the field is like watching Prince toss a white towel out onto the field.
