Title: Questions regarding 3G iPhone and AT&T.
Post by: The1BigWillie on June 24, 2008, 12:54:34 PM
I have a Palm Treo with Cingular/AT&T right now.  I'm about 9 months into my contract since updgrading to the Treo.  Will Cingular AT&T let me buy the iPhone and extend the contract another two years for $199?

Does anyone know what rate plans are available for the iPhone?  I don't need many minutes but need unlimited data and 2000 texts or so.

Maybe.  Maybe not (http://gizmodo.com/5016912/ineligible-att-customers-need-to-pay-full-price-for-iphone-3g).

The cheapest voice plan is $39 (450 min).  3G data will be $30 month (does not include text msgs.) $5 month for 200 text msgs, I think $20 for unlimited text msgs.

Oh, and SMS only (no MMS).  For now.

Sprint’s EVDO Rev A network offers five times more mobile broadband coverage than the AT&T 3G network based on square miles.
