* As a current OC and former O-lineman, I can’t imagine anything more difficult to block than a 3-4. I guess Arizona’s 4-4 of the mid-90s would be tougher, but no one runs a 4-4 on Saturdays anymore. If we get the horses to run it, I think this could be a very difficult D to block.
* If you have the Colorado game on tape (or TIVO, you computery fruits), fast forward (advance?) to the 0:25 mark of the 2nd quarter. Stephen Cline drops into coverage, makes a perfect read on the running back going into the flat, and when the RB accidentally drops the ball, Cline-O gives him the business. I don’t think SC will ever get the credit he deserved (especially after playing basically with a prosthetic leg). He was a very good NT. I think our D started to head South when Cline got injured and we had to put in www.BrandonBalck.com.
* Dan Hawkins may be a little fruity. “If Cody throws a touchdown, I wink at him. If anyone else scores, I go slobber all over them.” WTF???!???!?!?1
* We are going to miss James Johnson. For serious. His vision appears to be much better than Parrish Fish oops I mean Leon Patton’s. Also, he doesn’t go down on the first hit. He’s the most physical runner we’ve had since Scobey.
* I sure hope our new kicker is as good as Brooks Rossman. I think BR was an unsung hero from last year. Remember when he transferred here from Ohio (where he was 6-15 on field goals) and we were all like “oh boy, here comes another Joe Rheem freshman year” but then he was the awesome? He turned out to be pretty good. Hopefully Cherry can fill the void.
* At times our line looked REALLY good last year. I know that’s hard to believe because at times they looked REALLY bad, but I think Prince has them going in the right direction. There was more downfield blocking by the front 5 then I ever saw during the Snyder years.
* I still think Alesana Alesana Alesana Alesana Alesana is going to be awesome. At least 2nd team all big 12 at tackle this year. Write it down. Watch when Deon Murphy scored against CU on the option reverse. Alesana pancaked his dude, then went looking for someone else, and leveled a LB with a crackback block.
* Josh Freeman throws the ball harder than any QB since Michael Bishop. That’s not always a good thing…There were a couple of times where balls wouldn’t be dropped if there were a little touch on the pass. Then again, there were a few times when Pooshke had no choice but to hang onto the ball. It was like in UnNecessary Roughness when Scott Bakula threw the ball so hard at #88 that the ball got stuck in his facemask.
* WTF happened at the end of the Fresno game? Unfortunately, McKinney seemed to be the only one who gave a ****, and he’s gone for next year. It might be a good thing that we cancelled that game.
* Deon Murphy is CrAzY fast. I’m not just talking straight-line speed. Once the ball is in his hands he goes from 0-60 in a nanosecond. I haven’t seen anyone accelerate like that since Frank Murphy. The name’s just a coo-inky-dink. OR IS IT?????????????????????!
* Upon further review, LaGark Brown has the opportunity to be a force next year. In the 4 games that I watched he showed great release from the line and the ability to separate from defenders. Unfortunately he has a problem with the “catch the thing that they throw at you” part.
I bolded the one I'm afraid of. JJ was real real good last year, and patton kind of stunk.

Isn't Rossman still with the team?

yes, he fracked that one up.

This is excellent.

I think Patton will be better this year than JJ was last year. Basically they are about the same talent-wise, but the O-line should be a little better.

In watching Lamark at the Spring game...he can get seperation. He had some very nice double moves and for a 230lb receiver he does get off the LOS pretty good. It's all about experience at the position for him...and not having Roberto Duran mitts.

Freeman and Lamark are a natural combination. Lamark is a LB and Josh likes throwing to LB's.

You should definitely email this idea to Prince.

Interesting that PS has him listed as a TE.

I guess it just depends on whether Leon will try to quit the team again this season.
