I have below a 3.5. Is that like, a problem?
-
PFFFSSSST! No. sd gpa is embarrassing an zero doors were ever closed. That will get you into almost any grad program as long as you get a serviceable score on the GRE as well.
-
Cool. I will study hard for the GRE.

I was speaking generally. Sometimes I worry about things. Then, I stay on the message board and show up to work during the lunch hour and joke with the secretaries.

you should worry but generally speaking i don't think anyone has ever asked me my gpa. it matters most obviously when looking for your first job, other than that- nein.

It is always on your CV/Resume though right? I mean I have a 3 to start with, so it isn't a complete dickstomp, but it is mediocre imo.

No, never
-
hell no it's not on my resume dude, i'd feel a bit insulted if someone asked me my gpa during an interview. if my work experience isn't good enough for the job then my gpa certainly isn't going to help.
-
My GPA is no where on my CV. No one really gives a crap what grades you got as an undergrad.

I need to be more assertive. I'm too modest and humble.

Your college grades do go into your permanent file along with high school and middle school grades as well as # of tardies and possible ISS or afterschool detentions.

Good move that. No reason to get married if she's not going to be far wealthier and more successful than you.
Grades only matter if you don't know anyone. If you know anyone grades are completely irrelevant, if not they're the only thing that matters for the first few years post-college.

Thanks all.
I'm done worrying.

Where and how long would your peace corp thing be?
-

You can always go back to work at Chipotle. Excellent advancement opportunities, IMO.

Only if you like working at Chipotle.

Do you like working in places where 87% of visitors don't come back because of death by machete/gun/stick/rock/disease/animal(eaten by)/fall down hole/don't get paid/animal(mated with)/arrested for ransom/smelly/animal(raised like young and become farel)/bomb/infection/disentary/parasite/etc? :-[

grades don't mean sh*t after you get your first job, and foreign countries are scary! :cyclist:
-
no idea, 2 years.
possibly: ... Kyrgyzstan ....
Last Peace Corps draftee I knew who drew Kyrgyzstan hasn't been heard from since, you really don't want to go the the 'stans.
If you draw Central America I'll expect you to send me a couple of pounds of Contra Coffee and a Costa Rican hooker between the ages of 18 and 20. TIA
-
You guys know I can decline if I don't like the placement right?

Don't lie. FYP
-

If it weren't a hellhole they wouldn't be conning gullible American kids into going there. Smarter to just decline the whole Peace corps concept and do something productive with the next couple of years.
-
You guys know I can decline if I don't like the placement right?
irrelevant...the question is 'will you?' :ohno:

I think Garmin requires a high GPA.
Of course, I don't think they let anyone interview there, so it doesn't really matter.
-
GPA constantly comes up when applying for military/fed gov't jobs and goes a long way (along with adv. degrees) towards determining your starting salary.
Once you're in, people usually care less (especially military and contractors). Just get the job done and nobody will care if you aced speech class your sophomore year.
Also, marry a Kennedy.
-
Just lie. Nobody will ever check.

Just lie. Nobody will ever check.
Make sure you spell "Harvurd" right.

Just lie. Nobody will ever check.
This is a good point (unless you are going into some non-paying "why the F would you fight other people to volunteer for this job" job).
-
What kinda of degree did you waste the last 4 years of your life getting, KK?
-
no idea, 2 years.
possibly: W. Africa, Solomon Islands (Pacific), Kyrgyzstan, Central America.
Eh, I bet you're safe, KK. I know someone that's probably on the same level as you and they took him. They want to send him to Morocco or Jordan, fwiw.
