Completely understand that MGMT sucked in person, but this is the song/music video of the year (Is it from this year?  I'm counting it for this year)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVnRzEjpUmE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVnRzEjpUmE)

Their Album plays much better than their live stuff I've heard which is the total opposite of Arcade Fire (our best hope for long term awesomeness imo)

Yeah, I really liked their studio stuff, too.  They were just pretty bland on stage.

How was Gogol Bordello live?
I have always wanted to see them, and I heard they have a kick ass live show, but that it's best in a smaller venue.

i couldnt. they had her roped off like an exhibit. her guards would beat my face in had i snapped a few candids. they just let her sleep.

here she is performing sober and clothed.

You have a lot to learn about taking candid phone pics without being detected.  I expect Shawn to discuss this issue on his show tonight.

How was Gogol Bordello live?
I have always wanted to see them, and I heard they have a kick ass live show, but that it's best in a smaller venue.

I only stuck around for a couple songs, and it looked pretty much identical to every performance I'd seen from them before on TV or youtube or whatever..  I assumed it was pretty much the same for the entire hour and a half.

Was Kanye West pretty good live?

He was alright, but everyone there was insanely pissed at him.  He was originally scheduled to play at like 8:15 on the second stage.  A week before the show, they announced that he would play on the main stage at 2:45 am so he could do his entire light show thingy.

Well, 2:45 comes around, and the screen says Kanye will play at 3:00.  At 3:00, it says he will play at 3:15.  At 3:15, it says he will play at 3:30.  He finally starts around 4:30 and has a really corny spaceship/video/skit thing for his entire show.  He's a good performer, but I was tired and the sun was coming up so I left at like 5:00 before he was done.  If he would have started an hour earlier, I would have probably really enjoyed his show.  (It should be noted that most of the delay was due to setting up the stage...and Pearl Jam played an hour and a half longer than was scheduled).

It was really weird the next day to hear all the hippies bitch about Kanye.  I mean, that's all anyone at the festival wanted to talk about.

Did the Southerners get too annoying?  Or was there a good enough mix of people that you didn't really notice anyone group that was particularly annoying?  Annoying Southerners might be sufficient reason for me not to go to any future Bonnaroos.

Missed this question.  Probably the annoying group was the "metallica" fans.  There were some kind of annoying frat guys and pretty annoying hippies, but really a pretty decent mix, overall.  "southerners" wouldn't really fit in there.  didn't see any.
