Title: Yes, every KSU athlete takes all of their classes on line . . .
Post by: sonofdaxjones on June 17, 2008, 04:20:26 PM
This is NUBB and various other socks of fame:

Student Athletes, Classrooms & the digital age
I recently heard on the radio that student athletes at a certain Big 12 school (which I won't name because this is unconfirmed--but their initials are KSU) take all their classes on-line.

Back in the day, besides walking 2 miles up hill in waist deep snow, to and from campus, we actually attended class, in an actual room in a building on campus with a live teacher (or at least a TA).

The exception was the Keller Psyc class that was just a serious of quizes you could take over and over until you guessed right--even those were administered on a special computer lab exclusive to Keller Psyc class guessers/students.

Today, some high schoolers have earned 30-50 hours of college credit before they ever set foot on campus.

I'd hate to think that this is the trend for all athletes. It seems like they are missing out on valuable learning that gets done in the unique enviroment called the college classroom.

I hear Bo drops in to class from time to time so I am guessing NU isn't following KSU on this one.

No K-State athlete WILL ever step into a classroom again.  Ever.

nu lags behind the rest of the entire conference in connectivity.  Also, education as indicated by that bozo's post where he mistakes "series" for "serious"

they gotta get with the times.

I hear Bo drops in to class from time to time

Shoot, I heard that a certain police department (Which I won't say who it is becuase its unconfirmed--but their initials are LPD) has a set up a computer lab so athletes (at UNL) can attend their computer classes (which nubbs claim they don't take). Bo drops in using his frequent vistor pass to make sure that the athletes are logging onto the computers at their makeshift computer lab so some chineese student can remotely access their homework and do it for them.
