was a sophmore last year. does anyone remeber ell's sophmore year? he just about lost a QB battle to Mark &@#%ing Dunn. With at most 6 minutes of help from the D (2 vs auburn although than can be chalked up to not being able to run the ball, 2 vs ku and 2 vs OSU if that) we're a 8 win team. I havent seen it as much here but everywhere i go when i hear a k-state fan, they are complaining on how horrid josh played last year. WTF? he did his part if anything bitch at the defence. I get the Prince bashing and Freeman wasn't perfect last year, but he is far from the main cause of our problems.
-
You may be right to an extent. However, he's the quarterback - comes with the territory.
-
I don't have a beef with a single offensive player or coach from last years squad. They all did well.
-
A consistent running game would take a load off of him. Although our RB's seem productive, we don't ever line it up and run at someone. A big RB would do a lot of good for Freeman.
I was fine with the offense other than that. But being the QB, you take the criticism. All the way from HS to NFL.
-
Freemie was a stud last year, but I'm curious to see how much of that was throwin the ball to Jordy every play.
The lack of running game was more than replaced with the short passing game. I'd love to have a more consistent running game, but the OL just wasnt there, and this year the OL will be better, but the RB position kinda scares me.
D was miserable.
Great D=championships. Simple as that.

Except for 2002. :curse:

I'm a bit worried about the jordy thing also.
But, as long as we beat OU.

Yeah worried about the Jordy thing as well... and I'd rather go to a bowl than beat OU (although I'd take both)
-
Ell and all the other greats earned their starts and also got bench time for mistakes and mishaps. Freeman has the job, no competition allowed.
-
Though losing a player like Jordy is never a good thing. But I felt like last year Josh maybe relied on him too much, and not having him may help his growth this year. Even as I just wrote that, I question my own reasoning, but I think there is some truth in it.
But offensively, I really think we'll be okay. If we get a much improved line, then we could be great.
If we see any kind of a good defense, we should have a solid year.

Not one? Not even say...a left tackle or a tight end?

Not really...maybe Norwood for being such a stupid f*cktard.

If I had a Delorean, I would go back in time and make Rashaad keep his original commitment to ku. There are plenty of beds to hide under and parking lots to brawl in over in larry town.

would you rather have had carson coffman in there? or hartman? or in 06 a dylan meier who looked like he had a permanent concusion? Freeman took a team baisicly the same as the 05 team and took them to a bowl. Allen Webb couldn't get anything done vs big 12 competition besides vs Nebraska and Missouri but he atleast won 4 games. AE was 1-5 as a starter. GMAFB Freeman might have been promised the job, but in all likelyhood he would've won it midway through the season anyway.
-
Competition is healthy and keeps guys from getting fat. Freeman is good, not great. His turnovers have killed us back to back seasons against ku and he has put up some big numbers in games where the score was out of control. As for the other guys, too small a sampling on AE to see what he would have been. Webb was much better (twice bailed us out against MU as well as a big game agaisnt NU) than you give him credit for. Dylan not really a factor after his numerous injuries. Prince has it his way, no competition or really competent subs, so Freeman will not have to work to keep his job.

Freeman getting Bill Walker'ed by the retard KSU fans.
OMG!!! HE'S NOT PERFECT!!!

Yep, those big numbers at OSU, ISU, ku, MU (we were only down by 11 at the end of the 3rd Quarter)and at Fresno, in spite of our horrid defensive effort, if the 65 yard td pass to Murphy wasn't called back we're in the game there. And of course a sophmore QB on a team that averaged over 35 points a game and owns most of the schools passing records should be criticized anyway you can. Especially when you realize how little competition he has had. (sarcasm)
AE-AW-DM are all good guys who helped the program in their own way. They are all gone now. Two CHOSE to leave. One graduated. And neither of them led our team to a bowl game. Freeman did, without the luxury of Bill Snyder. Imagine what that would have been like.

If one takes a look at all KSU QB's, not just Freeman, they will find a lot of the outlandish passing numbers are a result of being way behind in games and versus a softer defense having the opportunity to play catch with receivers. My point was not to compare stats as much as say the kid needed and still needs competition to reach his potential. I continually forget we are:
"Bold And Daring" and "We Are K-State". You gotta love Ronald and what he is doing for this program.

Also, he should stay away from running around in the ville trying to get in. Along with staying away from certain other things as well.

can you tell me how they killed us this year? listen Freeman led the team down the field with a couple minutes left and turned over to the defence and said "Ok, now go protect the lead" and the D &@#%s it up so that ku scores in like a minute and freeman had about a minute to 45 seconds to move the team 80 yards down the field. Yes Freeman's turnovers were a BIG BIG key to that loss :blank: :hahano:
-
Freeman's biggest games were OSU, ISU and ku. Which one were we way behind? Yep Nebraska you might have a point. Otherwise he made plays in competitive situations. But go ahead and pretend that his number were meaningless. You probably don't think much of Lynn Dickey either.

I forgot to mention the turnover late in the Auburn game. Thought he had a crucial turnover towards the end of the first half against ku as well. It will be interesting to see how many yards Freeman throws for (since that is really the name of the game- stats, right?) when we are getting buried by Tech and OU at home. I'm 43, so I only saw Lynn Dickey play a few times, so I can't judge him. On the surface the Dickey and Freeman comparison works. Both Qb'd teams that had a few notable wins (OU and NU for Dickey, TX for Freeman) neither QB was mobile at all and both were semi local guys. Neither is close to the Ell, Bishop, Beasley category, but decent KSU QB's who rolled up big stats.
-
It's tough to totally blame Freeman for fumbling in the Auburn game after Alesana gave Groves three free shots at Freeman's kidney.
Plus, at that point in the game, Freeman should have been handing off the Johnson up the middle or taking a knee. We led for 57 minutes until a defensive breakdown put Freeman in that position.
-
I would agree the Auburn game was a disaster at the end and did not need to be. Imagine how different 2007 if the Cats open with a win rather than trudge home with a loss. Opening at Auburn= Bold, Daring and a Loss

You can say that Freeman had success in pressure situations but that would not be the case. Here are his stats last year when tied or behind at any point in a game after the first points are scored.
8 TD's
6 INT's
2 Fumbles
2 TO's returned for TD's.
Of those 8 TD's four were in situations where KSU was behind at least 24 points.
The kid simply cannot handle tough situations.

Yup, because there are no other players on the field not doing their jobs, and having an effect on the qb, its just him.

Both picks at ISU, including the pick six, went through both hands of the intended receiver before being intercepted. Auburn he had a hail mary and a last minute prayer. Versus uk, remeber the last play? Take the sack or throw it under pressure. And did you forget the drive before when we took the lead? And forget OSU where he led an 80 yard drive and threw a two point conversion to take the lead. And forget Bayor when he blew up for three td's in the 3rd quarter to take control of the game. And forget UT and CU in 2006. The kid just can't handle pressure. There are a few snyderfanatics in lawrence. But I am guessing you are really an Everidge fanatic.

freeman isn't perfect, but last i checked he has won atleast 2 games. the same can't be said about mr everidge.

Mr. Evridge got a win out of the bullpen against ku and despite being lifted for a reliever (Webb) gets credit for the win in the Coach Snyder finale against Mizzou. Overall W-L for AE was 2-5, but 2 wins against 2 of our 3 rivals. JF is presently 0-4 versus the beaks and tigs.

we were behind and webb led us down the field to win vs Mizzou. AE gets the win. we were behind and everidge led us down the field to win vs ku (in the 3rd quarter but it was still all we needed). its an even trade off. ae was 1-5 get over it he couldn't win.

throw that white thrash loser Dylan Meier in this category.
Meier was the biggest QB pussy in ksu history. He wasnt even a D2 athlete.
Everidge at least had balls and played tough, and he still had slightly more athletic ability than Meier. Ive seen more athletic yell leaders at ksu than KM.
