Daktronics is adding the Concussion Counter to the scoreboard at Camp Randall next weekend.

He was miserable.
But a tough tough kid (mainly bc he was slow and white)

good point
The label "tough" is just there because he put himself in a position to get his own ass handed to him so often. He would then scrape himself off the turf and limp to the huddle. People were all, "Oh, man, he's tough!" When what they should have been saying was, "GD that kid sucks!" It would be like if someone went to the bar every night and got the crap kicked out of them. Then, just because they were able to drag their bloody selves home, their friends considered them "tough".

 @ AE

Meh, really wasn't much worse than Josh was as a freshman. Baylor game and UT game cancel each other out.

I gotta defend AE....
He's tough, can run and has a very, very hot wife....
He was never given a shot to win the job by Ronald, so he is a bad guy?
Odd criteria for even the wackiest wacked out fans....

Probably an alright person in general just not in the areas I will ever concern myself with (being good at football).
-
Too small (starting on a team with a bad o line in '05 for only 6 games) of a sampling for me to judge whether or not AE was good, average or lousy....
On the day he had his best running game he had a crappy passing game (2 point loss at Lincoln)....
I (growing up in Papillion as well) always rooted for AE....
-
It helps to have four offensive linemen with starting experience and P.J. Hill in the backfield. The big question for them is their defense. They suffered a TON of injuries in the spring.

AE was good. I'll be back in this thread in 6 months.
-
Embarrassing that he played for KSU. I hope his friends enjoy my youtube of that loser.
-
He'll do fine. No way he would have beaten out Freeman here. obviously made the right choice.

The term loser is a poor choice of words....
Doubtful your youtube is going to be a deciding factor in his acceptance as the Wisconsin QB....
If he is the starting QB at Wisconsin it will be embarrassing that he was not given a chance to compete for the job at KSU....
-
what were his NU stats?
-
what were his NU stats?
Not good.
However, the ONLY offense we had during that game was when AE ran the ball. They couldn't stop it. We should have won that game.
-
w/e happened to lopina pat hill turn him into a safety?
-
Lopina really didn't look that bad, it woulda been a good battle between him and Freeman for starting job. Freeman would've obviously won but the first year it woulda been good
-

Didn't he look pretty good in WSU's spring game? Lol, no surprise there.

i thought he looked allright in ours imo, hell i'm a d-lineman what do i know?
-
Happy for the kid. After personally meeting him, more so his brother, I respect his family and Alan. He'll do well there, Bielma is a good coach for him, and that offense is a perfect fit for him. He'll do good things there... And having P.J. in the background sure doesn't hurt.
-
IMO, the hit against AE defined Nick Reid's career. Mad propz to him.
-
Had AE been able to hit a bull in the ass passing against NU, than yes, we would've won that game.
-
Or they coulda just missed the field goal... :D
But very true, sad numbers. I didn't think he was doing all that bad (at the game), until I thought about how many incompletions he had. Other than that, managed the game fairly well (as well as a qb can do for not completing anything).
-
Not defending AE, but missed extra points? Anyone?

It's people like you that voted for Hansbrough over beasley.
WTF? managed the game well? the douche was 5-27. 5-27!!!
-
:) And we still almost won... He had well over 100 yards and a couple rushing TD's if you remember correctly.
And you probably don't want to know my thoughts on POTY.

wait, so it's all about winning?
Fine, the guy was 1-5 as a starter.
-
Evridge was a tough QB and was inexperienced and a freshman. Everyone was impressed by him throughout the season until he later badmouthed the program saying he wasn't getting a fair chance and that was equivalent to pissing in everyone's Cheerios.
He was good. He told the truth and Ksu fans hated him for it. They still do even though its obvious he was right.
-
Tough ='s Good
Check . . . got it.
Evridge, Allan 27-5-1 77 0 43 2
Evridge, Allan 10-2-1 25 0 23 1
For those keeping score at home, that's 7 for 37 (18%) with 2 INT's in his last two games at K-State.
I personally wish the guy would've stuck around, but lets not kid ourselves, even though he was young, he wasn't exactly "good".

We were a 5 win team in 2005 and lost by 2 points in Lincoln against a team that went to a bowl....
Last season we were a 5 win team and lost by a guhbillion points to the worst little red team in recent history....
Snyder and AE versus Ronald and JF??

You like to take things out of context. It's rather annoying...
I said we still almost won the game, despite that AE had a bad day throwing the football. He scored two touchdowns with his legs, that's better than nothing. If you knew anything about football, running for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns shows he was doing everything he could to help his team win. How the hell have any of my comments led you to the conclusion that I said winning was the only thing that matters?
AE wasn't brought in to be a freshman starter, like Freeman.Evridge would have been a good QB with a decent O-Line/RB/WR's around him, and some more experience. He will be a solid QB at Wisconsin this year. Good kid. Works hard. Too bad Captain Integrity had to run him off.
-
As I've said before, the next pass he completes into the wind will be his first.
-
The ball he threw to Jordy was against some wind at Tech.
-
Allan Webb vs. Allen Evridge was a classic debate.
And also very, very sad.

I see what you're saying but Freeman and the offense was the least of K-State's problems last year.

Webb = much better. He owned NU

In comparing JF to AE, realize AE had a proven genius coaching him. JF had a first year HC and a first year OC. Both QB's had o-lines that were a work in progress.
I have a feeling if JF had had the benefit of LSnyder in his first year, he would have been even more amazing. Like following up the Texas game by beating the sqawks. Remember LSnyder said they made a mistake in their recruitment of JF.
Imagine how bad AE would have been without him? Scary stuff! :ohno:

I made a post on Wisconsin scout board mentioning 7 for 37 (18%) with 2 INT's in his last two games at K-State, and linked fatty's video.
Some dorkstore said that AE won Freshman of the Year, I was all like "LOLLERS!!!"
Thread has been removed.

A Reasonably Anticipatory Assessment of: Wisconsin
Jun 14, 2008 10:11 PM EDT
A too-soon look at next fall, sans the inevitable injuries, suspensions and other pratfalls of the long offseason.

What’s Changed. As you can tell from the huge number of returning starters, very, very little. Typically, the prospects to do much on offense outside of a punishing running game, if necessary, are slim and circumstantial, at best. The Badgers have gotten by with limited, within-the-offense types at quarterback for years, and figure after just one year with Tyler Donovan to make do with another in a long line of managers, be it Allan Evridge or wholly inexperienced Dustin Sherer. Neither stands out: Evridge barely played as a backup last year and completed less than 50 percent of his passes as a part-time starter at Kansas State in 2005 – in his last four starts at KSU, he completed a dreadful 43 of 107 (40 percent) and threw four picks to one touchdown; the Wildcats only recovered when he was pulled after starting 2 of 10 in the finale against Missouri – and Sherer’s only career completion was to an Indiana defensive back in mop-up duty in ‘06.
