Where do I begin? I want to do like, all sorts of math sh1t on that b1tch. I have a decent roll to begin, and I know good bankroll management. Like, roll gotta be like 100x your unit right? That's about it though. I want to know what stats I should datamine, also, I dunno, like how to "line shop" or whatever. Like, I play tourney poker so I've done a bunch of like, endgame math and sh1t, and as long as I don't tilt like crazy I'm starting to get pretty nice results, so I was hoping to apply like, some number crunching to sportsbetting. I'd go to like, a sportsbetting forum, but I'm pretty dumb. Like, I don't know sh1t in it. I'm also hoping to get better advice than they give n00bs there. I start retarded threads, but this is fo' real.

Really can't be done like poker (because numbers aren't playing each other) but there are ways to help yourself. Bet somewhere with a small vig (Pinnacle is only -105 which is half of most places). Find a site that shows the percentage of money coming in on each team - Bet the other way. Also, if the line moves significantly bet against the move because, as a general rule, Vegas knows more than the retards that are betting and they are always out to get equal money each way. Anyone who tells you Vegas is trying to "hook" betters by getting everyone to bet one side is a retard. Those are the only somewhat math'ish things I know and they aren't even really math'ish. sd personal suggestion: Bet the moneyline AGAINST ksu each and every game where one is available. It really helps the losses to have some money to wipe your tears with, buy nyquil, etc. I also personally like to bet home team underdogs on the moneyline. This may all fall under the "they give n00bs" category you mentioned because I'm no expert.

I lost a good sum of money on the USC vs. Texas for the NC. The bet was straight up, I felt like I was taking candy from a baby. I lost like $30, this is like in 6th grade.

i did it for a while. made a little money, but it was too stressful. also i realized i was like, getting maybe min. wage for the time i spent analyzing teams/matchups, etc.
fun for a while, but to really try to make money - hard.

how much were your units? i have good understanding of br management and swings don't bother me like they used to.
did you do a lot of "line shopping", anticipating movements, or were you like, more of a handicapper? arbs? bonus whoring?

Mjrod and Bookiepimp are the resident experts.
There are several issues to over come, assuming you are talking about internet gambling.
US banks and credit card companies can't do business with sports books. So, you need to setup an account with an international version of paypal, where you can tranfer money...and then transfer to the gambling sites.
Problem is, some are shady (or so I hear).
Again, check with Bookiepimp.

How did i forget about Bookiepimp? Is he still alive? He hasn't posted since April. I'll definitely have to check with him though. mjrod? He's probably just a degen. ;)
All of my funds are currently on Bodog, but don't some sports books use moneygram? My friend has had good success withdrawing that way, but I have yet to do so.

The past few years in college football, cfn has had a theory about always bet on the home double digit underdogs to cover, kinda like what sd said. They usually post the matchups and hit over 60% i believe. just some food for thought.

10 as a basic. but i wasnt v. disciplined. anywhere from 5 to 30. pure handicapping, nothing more.
you tend to get some good lines early in the season, but 10 to 15 games in, the lines were pretty tight. my biggest problem was finding enough games to bet on. later in the season, betting the over was often the best line.

I am still enormously pissed at my parents for not having me like 5-10 years earlier. Can you imagine betting K-State non-con in the mid 90's on? You could've made some serious cash. Those lines were insanely pathetic. I still remember being soooooo pissed about '02 ku game and seeing the line and not being able to bet it. It was like KSU -21. I was like "LOL!"

your biggest problem wasn't finding enough games to bet on, it was that you were looking for too many. stuns, do your research and pick one/two games per that are your locks and stick with them. don't try to spread your money too thin. i made a killing betting games in college. back then (may-bishop DOD days) Vegas acted like they'd never heard of K-State. it was fun.

When I was at kstate my roommates and I took bets for about a year. It was stressfull as crap. There was a ksu-bradley basketball game that people bet like 300 bucks against the cats (they were SAE's). We ended up making a little over a thousand and splitting it between the three of us. That was ten years ago.
My advice would be to stick to what you know (college/Big 12).
