Title: Right before you go to sleep, do you think of really weird sh1t?
Post by: ksuno1stunner on June 04, 2008, 07:07:33 PM
It's weird, like I just think of some random random random sh1t that I don't remember but can't explain.  Maybe a mix of like deja-vu/mind hallucination?  But, I like, start spacing into this weird mind-state, then like suddenly become aware and I'm like all "wtf, why was I thinking of that, it makes no sense."  I'll try and remember some next time.

Maybe I'll enjoy it like I do sleep paralysis (which I hear voices...last time I heard the word "naked" over and over...pretty hot right?).  But for some reason I never noticed this.  Am I going crazy?

Like, it's right before I go to sleep, I'm usually in a daze and think of really weird sh1t, I don't really control it, and while I'm in the daze whatever I think of seems normal.  I have no examples, but next time I will write it down.

Did you protect your town? :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

YES YES! I mean, just absurd sh1t. I can't even explain it. I think I wrote this on your other sleep thread.

It's right before you fall asleep. And, you can wake up from it and go, "wtf" ??

If you can't get to sleep, you never hit the stage. Once you get the weird thoughts, you know you will soon fall asleep

No but if I've worked a particularly long day in which the work bumps right up against the time I hit the sack I often dream of the work I was doing just prior to falling asleep.  Damndest thing is that I have to keep a notebook by my bed because, as often as not, I get some very creative and sometimes workable ideas while asleep.  And yes, I both pity and loathe that portion of the human race that is as yet unable to extract 168 useful productive hours from each week.

didn't you start this same thread about a year ago?

anyways.  last night i dreamed we were playing ku in football.  ku took an early 51-32 lead.  Freemie led us to a 51-51 tie with a few minutes left in the 3rd Q.  our wide receivers were incredi fast.  we were driving at about the 45 yd line of ku then i woke up.  tried to go back to sleep but couldnt.

Had a prof in undergrad who said that if you write down every dream/crazy thought you had while sleeping or trying to fall asleep that after a while you would be able to tell when you were sleeping and be able to control what happened in your dream.

I thought "sweet, I'll get BJ's every night. Maybe even a threesome." In the end I was too lazy to try. I have read some stuff since then and believe that it's possible but still too lazy to try.

i talked about it with my old pscyh prof. and he said that with the billions of impulses constantly going through the human brain it is nearly impossible to depict what you dream about.  not saying i agree with him or not cause honestly, he's a little loopy.

Something like a lucid dream?  But srsly, who wants to write right when you wake up?  That would be sweet though.  I could combine my dream (no pun intended!) of flying, banging like, 100 chicks, saving the world, and I dunno, surfing on a dolphin, all at once.

So you spend, what, 100 of those hours cruising this message board and various right wing websites so you can post what you learn there here and vice versa?

Time well spent if lefties are annoyed.

I guess it's all relative to what's important to you.

Same problem. I also try to think of weird happenings/random stuff when I'm having problems going to bed. so just some how I just luckily fall asleep.

The trick there is surviving until you fall asleep.  If you're awake you may decide to lay down on the nearest train tracks or jump off a tall building.  But if you make it until you fall asleep you're golden.

LOL, just TRY falling asleep on 'shrooms or acid.  I proclaim that it can't be done.

It cannot be done, I assure you. I once prayed for sleep (or death) as I lay curled up in a dark corner as the sounds of the movie Ice Age scared the ever living crap out of me.

Yes, I remember a couple of "Trips" I took way back when; I remember trying to "go to bed" only to believe I would never fall asleep ever again.

Stunner... have you ever seen the movie "waking life"

It's not a great movie, but I think you would appreciate it.

Also,  I've never told anyone this; I've had this weird "thing" ever since I was in my teens...   Whenever I have trouble falling asleep, I sometimes picture a handgun pressed against my forehead just between my eyes with a blurred out silhouette of a man holding it up.  I always fall asleep as soon I see a gleam of light accenting the edges of a hollow point bullet lying in the chamber.

works everytime and whenever I do this I have a dream-less night and wake up well rested.

Oddly enough, I'm a pretty evenly keeled person, and no one that knows me well would suggest that I have any psychological problems.   I really feel these weird thoughts that I manifest in subconscious states prevent me from doing crazy crap in real life.
