I've been watching all the old highlight video's on youtube and it got me wondering what type of offense Snyder ran. It seems as if he took a little bit from everyone's playbook and made it his own. Lots of veer's mixed in with speed option and a little bit of the early spread option. As for passing it seems as if every pass was either a quick WR screen or a fade. Just wondering if anyone knew the name for the offense he ran. I know its none of this fancy west coast nonsense....Doesnt prince know we are in Kansas? Not a coast for 1000 miles....

All I know was what Jake Arute told me repeatedly, that the playbook was actually bigger than the phonebook.

Did anybody else think that whenever Brent said, "Now we'll go down to your partner Jack Arute." Think he said Jackaroo??

I think he would say "our ol' buddy....."
And those of us playing the game would drink.

smart people say it was one of the first spread Os.

Depends on the year. In 1998 the playbook consisted of "Have Bish run around in the backfield until someone gets open and then throw a bomb" or "Have Bish run to the endzone." Occasionally we'd throw in an option play.

Under Hudson it was stretching the field horizontally with the option, and vertically with the deep pass. It was beautiful.
:crybaby:

There were really two main, distinct offensive strategies. In the May, Miller, Kavanaugh days we had a very sophisticated passing attack...obviously more so with May. In fact, that was Snyder's original claim to fame.
Then he discovered that QB's came in black.

Marc Dunn. :yuck:
Jason Schwinn. :banghead:
Adam Helm. :blank:
Allan Evridge. :flush:
Dylan Meier. :ku:
Kevin Lopina. :dunno:
-
I would wager the % of snaps in that time frame were majority taken by a black guy.
Ell
Allen
Beas
-
Lopina was the only one that wasn't a starter at some point.
-
schwinn only started b/c of injury.
-
I thought it was Jeff Schwinn, not Jason.
Either way, f*** that guy (Marshall).
-
Coach Snyder ran a winning offense. I miss him... :'(
-

2. o -line
3. man 2 man DB's
4. quality QB
