wont listen to a band with a lead singer who isn't at least 30yrs old.  nothing worse than some "fresh out of hs'er" talking about all the trials and tribs he's had to face in life, imo.  also nothing worse than guys who can play rock band better than they can play their real instruments.  power chords have sadly taken the guitar solo out of rock.

check out:  days of the new and ryan adams.  travis meeks (dotn) and adams are two amazing songwriters.

I've come to really dig the Black Keys over the last couple months. I don't know why I'd never heard of them until then. My favorite album is probably Magic Potion as of yet. Haven't heard them all yet. Rock/Bluesy stuff.

Death Cab's new album is said to be an earlier contender for album of the year.

Doves is a band that is huge in Europe, not as big over here.  They are really good too though.

Ozomatli is probably the best band in the world right now.  They put on the best live show you will ever see.

Handsome Boy Modeling School is very good for a mix of styles.

Mars Volta is pretty good, but they tend to do a lot of wankery inbetween songs that gets old.

Mephiskapheles is awesome but not so new.

If you like country go back and get some Marty Robbins.

Molotov is pretty sweet and so is Control Machete.

rubber factory is my fave black keys album. they also have an ep covering some old blues guy that died songs. chulahoma is the name i believe, pretty interesting.

if you like sigur rios and mars volta, check out muse.

junior brown has some pretty rocking country stuff.

ween's last couple of albums have been interesting.

brmc has been putting out some mellow music that i find interesting, especially since seeing the dig documentary about the brian jonestown massacre.

Only bands that are in their 30s have the adequate balance of angst and perspective.

At least you mentioned Royksopp.  There's a whole world of electronic music that's >>>> than any rock being currently produced.  Rock's dying.  Napster and Clear Channel killed it.  (not that I didn't love Napster)  Maybe if rock musicians can figure out a way to make money in the new internet environment, then it will make a comeback.

Apprec. the generous offer d00d, but piratebay has already supplied me with 1 of the 3 and the other two should be done in about 5 minutes.  I'll call you for a donation to my "pay for sd's internet piracy fine" if caught though.

What does everyone think of Lil' Wayne?

need to start doing what i do.  go to myspace music section, find a good band you like (old or new), then go to pandora.com and create a station of that band and listen away to them and the other bands that come up.
