Title: Murphy's Law of Carpentry
Post by: AzCat on May 16, 2008, 03:31:37 AM
If Murphy were a carpenter the first woodpecker that came along would destroy civilization as we know it.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet said woodpecker. (http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1779634,00.html)  Since the allegedly human-caused alleged global warming is allegedly melting sea ice near the North Pole the listing of the polar bear, whose survival allegedly depends on said sea ice, as an endangered species places every human activity that impacts carbon emission or absorption firmly within the regulatory power of the federal government.  You may have to file an environmental impact statement before you're allowed to go on breathing.

And people wonder why all of the jobs are going to China and India.    :dancin:

I mean really; do you people understand that you might now theoretically be required to file environmental impact statements prior to each trip you take in one of your vehicles?  And if some bureaucrat finds that your trip isn't sufficiently important to merit approval in light of the risk of harm to polar bears you'll be hoofing it or heading off to prison for placing an endangered species in peril.  A few other things that might well be in jeopardy: all construction projects, the manufacture and sale of all goods but particularly those that feature internal combustion engines, the operation of all hydrocarbon-fueled power plants, etc.  The simple addition of this one animal to the list has placed the entire gamut of human activity within the power of federal bureaucrats.

All we need is a plaintiff to make these things happen.  And since anyone who travels far enough north to see the polar bears eating the Halliburton employees at Dead Horse has standing it's only a matter of time until the 9th Circus takes up these issues.

You libs won't appreciate it but this is an absolutely brilliant master stroke by the Bush Administration.  He forsees a lefty victory in the fall elections and is ensuring that the tools necessary for them to destroy our economy will be at hand as soon as the new administration is sworn in.  Hussein and the Hildebeeste can hardly do other than agree that protecting endangered species and regulating activities that they believe contribute to the alleged global warming are good and worthy causes which must be pursued.  When the dust settles in four years we'll have seen the damage this does and the public will be so visciously angry with the left that the donks will likely lose the House, Senate, & White House and might not win any of them back for a generation.  Brilliant!  Brilliant I say!

Why do you make so many horrible threads that no one will ever read?

Because if the database survives 4-5 years I'll be able to say "I told you so" to all the unemployed lefties whining about what a mess the country is.

Isn't it funny that there are actually 20.000 more polar bears today then there was in the 1970's?  And yet we're all led to believe by the media that the polar bear population is declining.

It amazes me that there are still backwoods people out there who think that global warming is a myth.

Climate changes, it always has.  The idea that humans are having a measurable impact on global temperatures is a myth.

That fact that you think this is even a remote possibilitly just proves you don't have a grasp on reality.
