It must suck to be so terrified of the future that you are forced to live 5-10 years in the past.

Dude, you wouldn't understand. ku has never had a DOD, and will never.
I hate how non-DoD havers always try to give input on things pertaining to DoD's. It's like me advising Brandon Rush on how to abandon babies.

One Big 12 Championship and Zero National Championships = "DOD"

To put that in perspective - Kansas Mens Basketball has NEVER gone 10 years without winning a conference title. So their "DoD" would be equal to the worst 10 year period in our Mens Basketball program history.
Well, when you've got the all-time series, the 12-win season, the better overall record, the win in a BCS Bowl, and the National Coach of the Year in football, one Big 12 title over the course of an entire decade just doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

What is the series record since the inception of the Governors Cup??
Damn, the teams K-State had to try and beat to win a Big 12 Championship during the DOD. Bill Snyder coached against 6 national championship teams and against 5 Heisman trophy winners.

Well if you're going to bring up ridiculously stupid stuff then here's some other things K-State did during that decade:
Six 11 win seasons in 7 years (only been done twice in the history of college football)
11 Consecutive bowl games
Fiesta Bowl Champions
2 Fiesta Bowl appearances
2 Cotton Bowl appearances
Won the North Division 3 times
1 Big XII Championship
Ranked #1 in the AP poll
Bill Snyder named AP National Coach of the year in 1998
-ESPN National Coach of the Year in 1993
-CNN National Coach of the Year in 1995
-Named AP Big 8 Coach of the Year in 1990, 1991, 1993
-Named AP Big XII Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2002
Top 10 Final BCS ranking 4 times
So to sum up, whether you want to talk about championships or all of this other stuff, ku has never come close to matching what KSU did during the DoD. LOL @ BMW's argument. What a retard.

You have to think, all those years we probably would have beaten them if we played them twice, making it 44-0. i mean, relating to "the streak" and basketball terms...i'm just sayin.3 holiday bowls (3 wins)

SCOREBOARD!!
Lock the thread. This one's over. I (and my Jayhawk brethren) just won. Hi-C and Little Debbie snack cakes will be served in the dugout.

I was an incredible jackass at that game.

Why do ku fans have such disdain for prince? is it the texas wins? or Freeman?
Remember when Mangino had to cry about the officiating as an excuse for losing the Texas game at home?
At home.
We throttled them on their home field, adding yet another chapter to this storied rivalry.

Just think, if the refs hadn't spoiled that game for ku, Mangino would have 1 victory over an above .500 Big 12 team.

Wait...you're telling me that Mangino doesn't have a win over an above .500 Big XII team? Holy crap that's embarassing.

Honestly its not disdain at all. Its actually more like "morbid curiosity" (that desire to look at a bad car accident even though you know the results are going to be ugly) he came in SO cocky and so arrogant. Not too mention guys like Keitzman completely going nuts for the guy before he even coached a game. He then came in...won some games that surprised some people....so there was a moment of maybe these guys were right about him.
And then...
The meltdown. The coaching staff departures, the running off of any QB's that would/could pressure GoldenBoy, the whispers of coaching colleagues treatment, the losses, the stomp, the arrests, the really bad loss to really bad Nebraska team. Its everything. Its the complete dismantling of one of the most amazing coaching jobs done in any sport in my lifetime in a matter of 3 years. Its remarkable. Its a trainwreck.

fyi, the coach that did that amazing coaching job was the one who dismantled it (in 2 years), Ron's picking up the pieces. Say what you will about how he's going about picking up those pieces, but Snyder freaking derailed the train.
Interesting bit of tap dancing by your fanbase on this one. Being able to cherish and glorify the "DoD" all the while trashing the old man for derailing the train. It must be difficult to separate the two. Props to those able to do it.

Not as much Snyder's fault as it was his assistants. He needed to fire several and get new ones, but didn't. His main fault was loyalty to his crappy assistants.
In that regard, we aren't trashing Snyder so much as the staff overall. Recruiting had become kind of an afterthought.
Guys, beating Texas at home happens less than Orange Bowl victories. We've beaten them there twice. I think we should get trophies for that.(http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t81/pjcountry41/bully%20backgrounds/trophy.gif)
Only one trophy matters.
