Title: Brian Brohm and Michael Bush
Post by: catsfan20012002 on August 08, 2006, 11:02:10 AM
QB Brian Brohm and RB Michael Bush of Louisville were today's featured Heisman candidates on Cold Pizza.

Pat Forde said that Brohm needs 3,000 yards passing and 25 TD's and Bush needs 1,500 yards and 25 TD's. He mentioned home games with Miami, FL on September 16 and West Virginia on November 2 as their big games (no mention of September 23 at BSFS). He set the odds of them winning at 25-1.

My friend was asking me about when he should try to find a couple extra tickets for the NU game and I said "right after the Lousieville game."

Neither of these guys have even the slightest chance to win the Heisman.

They would have to go undefeated to even be seriously considered.

Will Louisville be suffering from an emotional letdown if they lose to Miami the week before they play us?

I disagree.  If there is not a dominant team, then it could happen.  USC/UT both seem like they will take a step downt this year.  OState might replace them on that pedastel, but I doubt that Tressel ever has a Heisman winner on his team because he is so conservative offensively.  Teddy Ginn Jr. is the only shot in a Charles Woodson kind of way.

Two highly explosive offensive players on a team that is winning all its games might be attractive this year.  They technically play in a BCS conference and have a schedule that could impress if they go undefeated:

09/03   Kentucky   8:00 PM
09/09   at Temple   12:00 PM
09/16   Miami   3:30 PM
09/23   at Kansas St   TBD
10/06   at M Tenn St   8:00 PM
10/14   Cincy   TBD
10/21   at Syracuse   TBD
11/02   W Virginia   7:30 PM
11/09   at Rutgers   7:30 PM
11/18   S Florida   TBD
11/25   at Pittsburgh   TBD
12/02   UConn   TBD

Their trip to Manhattan ought to help out those heisman numbers.

Yes.

That might also serve as motivation to paste us.  I say they paste us.

You're gonna look awful silly out there by yourself.

If Prince beats Louisville I'll take back everything bad I said about him.

Whether they win or lose to Miami it will benefit us.

Every player on their team is right now, this second, thinking about Miami and they will be until approximately 3 days before they play us.

They all have the delusion that they can win the national championship and they know that Miami is the team that may decide that for them (even if W. Virginia may be a better team). Their focus will be on nothing else and definitely not on lowly 'ol Kansas State.

Louisville opens with Kentucky, last  year they only beat (@)Kentucky by 1 TD, and Kentucky sucked.

Also keep in  mind that they went into USF last year, and I think uSF is still scoring TD's on them.

They were NOT a great team away from Papa John's Stadium last  year.

Albeit they did lose to WV at Morgantown in triple OT, but WV didn't really start coming on like gangbusters until later in the season.

They've given up a lot of points the last two years on the road.   The only teams they've shutdown on the road were truely pathetic offensive teams.

So ... Louisville has an emotional game to start the season, and then a real test before they play KSU.

This is a good storyline.

Sure is.

The talk of us being blown out is a little far fetched.  If we are 3-0 and looking pretty good going into that game, I will feel very confident that we will win.

Forde was on again today with his Top 5 Gamebreakers and had Bush listed at #4. He said that he could have a 1,500 yard and 25 TD year this year. I think we need to Ricky Williams him.
