Not sure when the final release will be, but Beta 5 is out now. I think I'm going to like it. Seems extremely fast!

I can't switch until my plugins are updated. I can't live without google browser sync. Some others are really really handy.

If you run Windows, FF3 installs in a separate directory, so you can have both on your computer. If you have Linux or Mac, it overwrites the existing FF installation.
I'm sure more of the ad-ons will switch over in the coming months, so that they are ready by the time the release version comes out.

I used Beta 3 a while ago just to check it out, but there's no way I'd use it full time. Usually the bigger name add ons will be compliant with the new version in a week or so after release.

I am using FF3 beta 5 now. I like it. New gui (slightly) and uses much, much less memory.
Of course, I traded off basically because I installed digsby. That's a great little program, but it could use up to 100 meg of memory at times. That's just plain retarded (same thing I have complained about in FF3 forever).

Digsby is really awesome, but yeah, memory usage is a bit high. I'd love to see it under 20 MB.

no google toolbar is annoying me. You mean I have to go to google first, then search?
seems faster though.

does it not have the google search in the top right? I love that thing. I have wikipedia, imdb, netflix, linkedin, and hype machine up there. Love it.
The best google toolbar is the one where you can search highlighted text. Just brilliantly awesome.

Internet explorer 8 is building that feature in - it allows you to search highlighted text (using your default search engine) - and you can add on whatever custom searches that are available, such as mapquest, ebay,amazon.com, and of course, wikipedia.

Agree for the most part, although MS is finally realizing they have lots of competition in this venue and is trying to improve. Plus, gotta have full support for ActiveX. :'(

I didn't notice the dropdown tab that takes me to google. but yeah, no highlighted text search still blows.
