Looks like there is reason for optimism this season. The experts have us winning somewhere between 70-76 games. Here's to a successful season that will keep us interested into August.
-
I think we've got a great chance to finish ahead of the Twins. I expect the Indians to win the division and maybe we could get fairly close to the White Sox.
:hope:
-
Royals down 3-2 top 6.
Alex Gordon on pace to hit 162 home runs this season.
-
4-4 In the 11th.
COYR (Come on you Royals)
-
They take the lead baby! Now, can Soria keep it?
-
Royals win! Royals win!
-
Out in front of the entire AL at this stage in the season. Not bad imo.
-
If we could find a way to steal another one in Detroit we've got some winnable games in Minnesota before we come home and have to play the Yankees. All of that plus another series with Minnesota after the Yankees series could lead to a great start.
:woohoo:
-
On pace to go 162-0. Just sayin'.
-
Good stuff. We should re-name this thread to "idiots in a thread unite"

Gotta love the Bannister lovefest they just had on BBTN
:woot:

Please.... Stop the season now!!!
-
The last, and only time the Royals swept a season opening series on the road was 1977...at Detroit. :ohno: :ohno:
-
That year they won 102 games and the AL West. All we have to do is go 100-60 the rest of the way. But seriously.....I'd settle for a measly 79-81. Surely we can play .494 ball the rest of the way.
-
For now I'm going to stick with my preseason prediction of 76-86.
-
3rd game and Tigger fans are booing Gordon's homerun. "God@#$%!$#%! how the !#$!$ are we losing to the Royals!" Sad but funny.

100% of his hits are homers.

Anybody have some Miguel Cabrera fat jokes?
150 million dollar contract, that's a lot of Krispy Kremes.
:flush: <-- my fantasy team

Royals 3-0.
1st in the Central. :dancin:
1st in the entire American League.
Only 159 to go. Remember Royals, this is a marathon and not a sprint. I hope they're not sprinting already.

The key is to sprint the entire way

It makes me think of 03 and "Nosotros Creemos", or the failed attempt to recapture magic in a bottle with "Juntos Podemos" the next season.
So in honor of Trey Hillman bringing us his baseball prowess from the land of the rising sun:

Home Opener April 8:
BLUE & GOLD FIRST PITCH: University of Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel will deliver a special video message to fans, while Mark Mangino, head football coach at the University of Kansas, has the honor of tossing out the first pitch.
I'd rather see Mangino race Ketchup and Mustard around the bases.

Mustard would lap him and it's just a one lap race. That's not even that big of a dig on Sir Fattness, Mustard is just that God Damned fast!
-
id rather see mangino give a rusty trombone to pinkel.
yeah, i said it.

they beat the yankees end the season now!!!!
-
No. We're only tied for First Place right now.
:beerchug:

Good God! Mangino looked like a T-Rex out there trying to throw out the first pitch.

Seven dollars for a bottle of beer?
Yep.

We're on pace to go 122-40!
:yikes:
-
If you would've told me that the Royals would at worst go 5-1 vs the Tigers and Yankees but go 1-2 vs Minnesota in their first 9 games I would've thought you were absolutely insane.
-
Got a series coming up with the Twins, we need to make up for what happened the last time we played them, and then a very interesting West Coast road trip. Things look pretty favorable right now.
-
Why is cox so GAY and won't show very many games in Manhattan. :curse: :chainsaw: :banghead:
-
They want the Royals to pay for the privilege of having them carry their games. It's extortion just like the way they tried to extort us with WIBW before the Dance.

:crybaby:
Really?
The Royals are always good for a really long losing streak every season.
-
The Royals are the hottest team in baseball over the last 2 games. Look the fnck out!
Last place will only last until Detroit comes calling again.... pwned!
-
agreed, def. back to WS potential...
-
#1 pick next year  bet they wont get him signed
-
The Royals finish the first half at 37-44 which translates to a 74-88 finish
Discuss
-
so thats pretty much exactly were the experts said they would be. the royals seem to have these seasons and teams that are good enough to dissapoint
-
After the actual midpoint of the season the team is 43-53 which translates to a 73-89 finish. So I'll pose the question.....
Over/Under 72.5 wins for the Royals in 2008
-
Im thinking 76 wins which is reasonable and atleast respectable. All they would have to do is win 50% of there games from now on, which is possible but not probable
-
I think we're capable of playing .500 ball the rest of the way which would put us at 76 wins. With the luck of this franchise, although we're turning the corner, I don't expect .500 ball the rest of the way though. The 2nd half schedule is just too tough. Especially when you consider that, with the exception of the Tigers, we don't play a team that we have a winning record against until we play the Yankees in mid August.
-
2-1 since the All Star Break and now we play the Tigers who we're 6-0 against!
:runaway:
-
I predicted a 77-85 finish for the Royals this season. I'm basically awesome at predictions. :users:
-
Kat Kid has creamed his jhorts tonight.
-
75 wins for the "Boys in Blue" so I say we should be pretty happy. If not for a 12 game losing streak in May and an August that saw us go 6-19 who knows how well this season could have gone. Here's to an even more successful 2009.....
