Title: Do we read anything into this?
Post by: catsfan20052006 on March 23, 2008, 11:37:24 AM
“I came to college thinking about myself. Now, when I step on the floor, I think about everybody. The players, the coaches, the trainers,” Beasley said. “I didn’t expect to fall in love with the team as much as I did.

“I’m a Wildcat for life. I’m always going to be a Wildcat, no matter what my decision is. One year, 100 years, 500 years from now, I’m always going to be a Wildcat.”

I don't know whether to

:ksu: or :crybaby:

I want him to stay but I feel like it's selfish for me to want that. You know? If, ok so I know that it's when, he does go I'll be running out to buy the gear of whichever team gets the #1 pick.

Yes we should read into it that KSU will soon have a very rich donor!

I kind of think he might stay.  College life can be great and he seems to have his head together enough to know that there is more to life than just money.  You can't get your youth back, so why not have some fun for another year or two before turning pro?  I bet Walker will go for sure, but I hope MB will stay.

You can read into it that Mike's a great guy.  He's still going to the Association as soon as he can.

I just hope he tells that to every big time recruit he interacts with from here on out. He's going to be our best recruiter.

If you love something let it go.  If it comes back to you, it was meant to be.  If he doesn't, he was never ours to begin with( meaning, he should have been in the nba this year anyway.)

Seriously?  You think spending another year in Manhattan would be more fun than being a multimillionaire at 10 and playing basketball for a living?

Yes.  Being a multimillionaire superstar, especially a fringe one is a lot more responsibility and stress than you just made it sound like.

Yeah, you may get $95 million, but you have to like shoot commercials and stuff to get the dough.

If he said he was staying another year, I'd fall over, pick myself up, do a little dance, then feel incredibly sorry for the kid that he got such horrible &@#%ing advice from the people around him.

He's gone, and good for him.  It's is good to hear that he feels that way though.

The Telefund people need to make sure all 4 of his cell phones are ringing as soon as his press conference is over.

You have a point about spending another year in Manhattan.....

But, he seems to like his current situation and maybe he just isn't ready for the life of a pro.  The money will come.  Why not take another year to try to enjoy being young before having to grow up really fast in the pro world?  The lure of the money will be high, but if he is wise, he will wait a while longer.  Hopefully his mama is teaching him that there is more to life than money (but that the money will still come).
