"Kansas State was not even on my mind until Coach Huggins got there... I don't know anything about the school or where it's at... I might check it out, but I'm not sure if that's the place for me."

well, that actually makes sense.

1) Mayo wasn't considering kstate until huggins got here.
2) Because of that, he doesn't know much about it other than what huggs has told him.

That quote could just as easily be from Jason Bennett, Blake Young, Bill Walker, Herb Pope, or DuJuan Blair.
