Honestly we want whistles.  We just want them to be consistent whistles.  Not a touch foul on Beasley and then a no call on the other end.

did anyone else see that article on espn.com's tournament page? apparently some coaches are sick of refs not being consistent from start to end of the game. the point was that coaches want the refs to be held accountable now.

also, basketball is the only ncaa sport that has independent refs. that means that there are no "conference" officials. so the "big 12" refs are really just refs from the midwest that work alot of big 12 games.

so instead of the "Big 12 refs suck!" chant, really we should have been doing the "refs from the midwest that work alot of big 12 games suck" instead... of course

lol yeah i guess that would work. i just wanted to share that little nugget of knowledge with everyone. also on that note, the conference does pay the officials that work the games and the big 12 pays the officials less than any other major conference. basically means we get the lowest bidders (read: the worst/least experienced) refs.
