I wish you luck, my man.
I'm sorry this university did not appreciate you more.

Easy there... The only fan on earth.... He had several fans.. I for one hate seeing this.
Talent wise, This loss hurts the entire football team. Attitude wise... Who knows?

I,m sure that Allen is a good kid and with be a success after football, but all I see on the site is how Prince is a prick and how bad we are going to be. I love to watch the experts talk about how our recruiting sucks and how we are going to hell in a handbasket. Please remember that Webb was a part of one of the worst recruiting classes in KSU during the Bill Snyder era. Those classes are the reason the we have gone 4-7, 5-6 and who knows what this year. Please settle down and let Coach Prince try and rebuild this program. It is going to take some time, because as much as it hurts me to say this, our talent level stinks, and this is not PRINCE"S problem. :banghead:
-
He isn't that bad.
Quite an apologist.
-
Webb was a man against average to sub-par front 7s. AE was consistently mediocre usually relying on blind luck to suceed.
Hopefully Meier is back and healthy. If Freeman plays this year, I just might stop going to KSU football for awhile so I can save my sanity.

What is Dylan Meier's record against Big 12 Competition? Please remember that he was a 2 star ATH and has always played like one. Why do we all love Dylan?

The best of luck to Alan Webb.

The question was- What is Dylan Meiers record against Big 12 Competition? Not all of the stats that mean very little. It is 0 and what?. I am not saying that AE is the answer, but for someone to say that they will not be going to the games if Josh Freeman is the starter really bothers me. He is the highest rated QB to ever be recruited to K-State and we are saying that if he starts as a freshman, were not going to the games. This is going to be a process to get back to the level we were 3 to 5 years ago, but at the college level, you must have a dominant QB to be successful and we have a 4 rated top 5 pro-style QB and a redshirt sophomore that is very capable of keeping us respectable whether he starts this year or is Freemans Backup. We cant settle for the Dylan Meiers of the world or we make think 4-7 is a great year.
I wish Allen Webb the best because, quite frankly he was our best option during these down years.
-
You don't think Meier can do better than 4-7? Are you saying that the 4-7 year rested soley on the shoulders of one position? Keep in mind the stats you saw were his Sophomore year. What QB plays out their full potential their Sophomore year? Not many I've heard of.
-
The stats that were posted on AE were his freshman year. I hope that if Dylan is the QB this year that he has matured and we are much better that 4-7. It is not that I don't like Dylan Meier as a person. What I believe is that AE or Freeman give us a much better chance of winning. Dylan had Darren Sproles in the backfield and every team that we faced keyed on Sproles as a senior and our threat of throwing the ball was not what it needed to be to win Big 12 football games. If you look at our QB's in our run, they all could throw the ball in clutch situations. Dylan had trouble with this aspect of his game and he is not threat as a running QB and he looks flustered whenever he was on the field. AE had an inexperienced line, Thomas Clayton and Carlos Alsup and his RB's. All he did last year was run for his life, which looked like it could end in Lubbock after the Dwayne Slay hit or the late hit against ku.

1. You are absolutely right about Webb vs. AE. But Webb thrives on a running game. He did very well against NU with a really bad front 7, but against ku who had a terrific D in '05 and pretty good one in '04 against the run he was horrid. Part of that was our terrible o-line play/injuries, part of that is his momentum mojo when he can start busting runs then hiting open recievers.
2. You are completely delusional if you think Freeman as a freshman will offer something better than Meier or AE. Look at Ell Roberson in '01, AE last year for evidence of this. First time QBs in D1 do not fare well. Especially not in the big 12. Especially not with an O-line full of question marks. Even Evridge would be a much better option as he has an entire years experience behind him. Watch Kerry Meier @ ku and laugh, just hope you aren't wincing watching Freeman out there at the same time. If Freeman comes in and does something spectacular in a throw-away game (possibly Lousieville?) please don't start clammering for a change. See: Beasley vs. Roberson, See E3 vs. Dunn etc.
3. Dude, I'll "settle" for Meier's 2004 campaign anyday. He is the most efficient passer in KSU history since Chad May. He's not Bishop, he's not Ell, but he's steady. Maybe in a sense he could be Beasley, but he's never had the help and I doubt he ever will even if he sticks around for another year with a med. redshirt.
-
Kat Kid-Please remember that I am a blind fan of KSU and I already know that makes me delusional. All I really want is a Big 12 and National Championship. Maybe I should turn to Bob Huggins. I F@#$@$ hate Sirr Parker. By the way, you make some very good points, but I still want AE or Freeman to be the QB.

Clutch? Do you mean like coming off the bench injured @ ku and chucking a ball 80 yards down the field to take our first lead of the game? Seriously just stop.
Sproles in 2004 was ineffective for the majority of the season.

I know. Me too, that's why I'm so pissed.. I am starting to think B-ball is the wave of the future, even though I've been going to the Bram for my whole life. I was there in St. Louis. Thanks. I can't comprehend why you still think that.
-
The only way I can comprehend:
Fresno State 13-45 Loss
A & M 28-35 Loss
TT Loss at home
OU Loss at home
ku Loss- I know I cant count this one-Webb got us to far behind
Missouri- win- down 21-0 with Dylan- Webb comes in to win game
NU- win Webb QB
Colorado- Loss
***That is my only justification.

Webb is great when he has big Oline guys that plow Dlineman leaving gaping holes for him to run through.
He's a big runningback/qb. Thats where he's dangerous. If the holes aren't there ..............try and remember when fans wanted him to play and he couldn't throw a pass and his run game was SHUTDOWN.
When the pieces are in place he can be a solid RUNNING qb.
AE beat him out. He's still a good player though but needs a system.

I agree. With Sproles/Snyder/O-line/FBs from '02, he might be All-Big 12 second team.....Oh, what could've been.
As it stands he was terrific against CU/NU/MU but sucked against teams like ku/OU
