This could be a long, long season.
On the bright side, at least there are no expectations. I will be ecstatic if we manage to go 7-5.
What a long fall the past three years have been. :crybaby:
-
42 pts from 5th.
Dead, dead last.
Meh.
-
Makes the element of surprise that much sweeter. :D
-
Don't forget that the media also tagged a "certain team" as the best college football team in history.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?confId=&gameId=233400201
I think they lost their last 2 games of the year...
I hate the media at times.
-
They also said we would be the north leader the very next year after that "certain team" lost their last two games. What do they know?
-
There is great news, the sooner we get to the bottom of the entire Big XII, the sooner Head Football Coach Ron Prince can begin the second greatest turnaround in KSU Football History (SGTIKFH). It's about building your own legacy people, get with the program or get the hell out of the way.

SGTIKFH
-
SGTIFH.... What's the k for? Kansas?
-
We sucked real bad last year. We were clearly the worst team in the north. This should be no surprise.

Not a suprise, but if we sucked really bad last year so did the rest of the North.
ku Win 12-3
CU Loss 20-23
ISU Loss 17-45
NU Loss 25-27
MU Win 36-28
Or did you forget. Well... maybe ISU didn't suck, but ku and MU sure must've.
-
Losing to CU on our home field. Ouch.

OK, Moreira sucked.
-
Losing to A&M on our home field. Seriously, how bad of a team must you be to do that?

KSU fielded a bad team the last two years ... the amazing about it is, even though KSU sucked they were in position to win the freaking North both years, that's how bad the North was.
Two stats that stand out is that KSU was one of the worst teams in the country the last two years on penalties and turnovers. Terrible Net Punting last year as well, and very poor by KSU standards scoring defense.
4 areas that leave a team with only marginal to slightly above average talent across the board little room for error.
There was a time when KSU could turn the ball over on their own 20 against many teams, and KSU would keep them out of the endzone, or at worst make them work their asses off to score a TD ... the last two years it was "untouched into the endzone" I don't know how many times.

This was true for 2004. We were a hail mary @ CU from winning the north. We just sucked hard last year.
That being said, we should have known we were going to suck last year. We returned 8 starters from a 4-7 team.

This is really what's starting to concern me. Despite what you might hear on GP.com, there is a severe lack of talent on this team. When you take a look at this team from the outside, there's no way you could rank it above any of the other teams in the north. We're getting excited about guys who are returning who have shown some flashes of talent, but who have yet to put it all together as a team.
Hitting a home run every now and then doesn't make you an All-Star...or even a major league player.
-
Vince Young showed flashes of brilliance his fresh and soph year; yet he didn't put it together until his Junior year. I think there is talent on this team that can progress to be a group of solid guys. Bottom line, It'll all be speculation until we see that first game. (http://www.kstatesports.com/ads1/10129.swf)

Our lack of talent is where it hits us worse - offensive and defensive lines. When they suck - everyone else will look horrible.
