Kansas State running back Thomas Clayton was sentenced this week on a charge of battery, a Class B misdemeanor. Clayton’s punishment is 12 months’ probation and 100 hours of community service, assistant Riley County prosecutor Kristin Relyea said Thursday.
Clayton, who will be a senior, was arrested Sept. 16 by Riley County police after making contact with a K-State parking-services employee with his car as he drove away. The employee was waiting for a wheel lock to place on Clayton’s vehicle.
Last month, after the conviction, K-State football coach Ron Prince announced that Clayton would be suspended for the season opener Sept. 2 against Illinois State.
