Then North Carolina coach Roy Williams sat in front of the microphone at John Paul Jones Arena and started his own campaign.
His candidate?
Tyler Hansbrough for national player of the year.
“I get tickled listening to these people talk about national player of the year,” Williams told reporters. “Guys, there can’t be anybody that gives more to college basketball than that guy.”

Actually you guys (and Beasley) should be honored because if Roy boy wasn't worried about Hansbaby winning POY, he wouldn't have made a douche move like that.
Obviously Beasley is better, he may get screwed for the following:
1. UNC>KSU (at least in the minds of voters, I would like to see them match-up in the tourney)
2. East Coast bias
3. While this isn't right by ANY means, but there may be just enough voters who would rather vote for a junior than a freshman.
4. Unfortunately, there may be some a-holes who vote who will never even had watched Beasley play, or maybe, just maybe will watch him vs. UT and/or vs. ku. Not trying to knock him or KSU, just the way it works.
