I don't remember this Clint Malarchuk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT4PenDwiPo) deal.  Makes the Zednik clips look pretty minor.

He's lucky it didn't cut his jugular vein. Supposedly it came real close to getting it. He would have been gone if it had.

It's pretty much the same situation as Malarchuk.  Both had their carotid artery severed.  The difference is that Zednik skated to the bench so his pool of blood was scattered across the entire rink.

Yeah, that's what I meant.  Malarchuk just kneeling there bleeding to death looks a lot worse.

It's pretty gross. If you pay enough attention then you can see the skin of Malarchuk's neck just hanging from his chin. Brutal, brutal stuff.
