Question for those of us who are old enough to have careers and families. Do you love what you do or do you do it to because that is what it takes to provide for your family? For me I would have to say the latter. Discuss.
-
For me it's a mixed answer. At times, yes I love what I do. Other times it is not.

When it's going well which is to say when I've been dealt a strong hand, have played it well, and can just sit back and watch the dominoes fall / panic ensue I love it. When the cats refuse to be herded, stupid decisions are imposed from outside, and the whole thing is developing into a train wreck of astronomical proportions not so much. I do always love the game though.

love the work, hate the salary/job prospects. i wouldn't choose the same career again.

Hell no. It pays the bills. But if I have to do something to pay the bills, my job is pretty ideal for me. Just me and my computer. No stupid people to deal with.

i wouldn't choose the same career again.
Never too late to strike out in a new direction. When I was 30 I told the most successful person I've ever met that I still didn't know what I wanted to do when I grew up; his reply, "Don't ever decide."

Words I live by: a career is just a job you've had too long.
-
I don't love it, but I like my new main job quite a bit. It makes a big difference in overall happiness.

I love having a job. I don't think beyond that.

love having a job, like it most of the time.
