Title: Damn fine performance tonight!
Post by: AzCat on January 12, 2008, 08:07:20 PM
They're starting to look like a team out there.  I'd say KSU's NCAA tourney chances just went from "none" to "slim".   :skillz: :dancin:

If our guys play like that throughout conference play, we'll make the tourney...period.

So far we are the only team in the Big 12 to pick up a road win.  I don't think it can be underestimated what that means.  Especially one against a South team we are only going to play once this year.

On this point of road games, I think I read to day that we have opened on the road 7 of 8 years.  Between this and FB what the f*&^ does the Big 12 scheduler have against us?

It's one of the best games I've seen in years.  We even came out on top.  We beat a pretty darn good team tonight.  We should benefit from it.

Hopefully we get some confidence, and start rolling on way to a ncaa berth

Yes, absolutely on all counts and the fact that it was a road win is huge but it's still 1 of 16 Big XII games.  And right now  Kansas, Texas, Texas A&M, and Mizzou are clearly better than KSU; Baylor, Okie Lite, and maybe even Colorado will give the 'Cats all they can handle; and TTech kind of sucks but will be a pain in Lubbock.  To make the tourney the 'Cats are going to have to win every game they should and maybe steal one more that they shouldn't.  Young teams are rarely consistent enough to win all of the games they should; they might ... but that's not the way to bet.

Did you see either of them play today?  I saw both games: there's no way we would have beaten Mizzou today and CU is George Mason with more athletic players (seriously they're looking well-coached but just didn't have the players to hang with A&M .... we may not either).

Texas played crappy D.  Mizzou played well.  I wouldn't say theyre clearly better.  I figure we split but I see us with a better chance of taking both.  Colorado had/does suck.  That said, I agree we are at slim until we beat A&M/uk/Texas.  Need the marquee.

Once we learn how to play defense those slim chances will skyrocket!!!!!!!  Gawd how I wish Beas would be here more than one year.  Can you imagine what this team would look like if it stayed together for all 4 years.

I'm sorry, but colorado will not give us a run unless we let them.  we are wayyy better than the buffs. . .that's all.  and there is no way Missouri is "Clearly" better than us.  You need to learn basketball.  Missouri played as good as they could've, and texas played about as bad as they could've.  We would've beaten Mizzou by double digits with they way we played yesterday.

I seem to remember the majority of you 'tards shooting your mouths off after the football team beat Texas and I upped my over/under on wins for the season from 3.5 to 4.5.  How'd that turn out?

You had no idea about football. You had no idea that we would end the season on a four game skid.

I called 4.5 as the o/u right after the Texas game.  I believe I even mentioned the propensity of Ron's teams to melt down late in games and late in the season.   :twobirds: :billypopcorn:

They're starting to look like a team out there.  I'd say KSU's NCAA tourney chances just went from "none" to "slim".   :skillz: :dancin:

Here's a question.

If our chances were "none" before, how did they become "slim" now?  None is none, right?

I think there is a "good" chance that you are an idiot.

Playing the way the team played during the non-con = no chance.
Playing the way the team played during the OU game = slim chance.
