Title: Rivals has no love for the Octagon of Doom
Post by: power4PURPLE on January 10, 2008, 03:04:39 PM
I just read the story on the front page about how tough it is to play at Cameron Indoor. At the bottom, Rivals posted a link ranking their 16 toughest arenas to play in. Not that I thought we would make it, but still, people underestimate how good we are in Manhattan.

61 straight home-winning seasons
223-84 in Bramlage Coliseum (.726)

Now I know for a fact that Bramlage is tougher to play at least 2 of their top 16: Peterson Events Center (Pittsburgh) and The Joyce Center (Notre Dame).
Once again Rivals fails to see the DOOM we're creating!  :poundon:

(Note: Memphis and the FedEx Forum were also left out, yet they hold the nation's longest winning streak at 41. As a Memphis native this upsets me.)

That's actually pretty terrible.

Just off the top of my head (seriously, I'm the sh1t), we are 3-5, 6-2, 6-2, 3-5, 2-6, 6-2, 4-4, 4-4, 4-4, 4-4, 6-2 at home in big 12 play.

Collectively, 48-40. Really pathetic.

2. Kansas

Allen Fieldhouse. Capacity: 16,300. Over the past 16 seasons the Jayhawks have compiled a 214-17 record in the building named for legendary coach Phog Allen. They won won 62 consecutive games between 1994 and 1998.

That's too little time to look it up. I'm just that good.

How about BYU. They never have great teams, but they don't lose at home very often.

The Bram can't make the list because selling it out is a new thing. You have to get fans in an arena consistantly to make it a formidable place.
