Title: Glen Mason at Minnesota.
Post by: michigancat on November 14, 2007, 09:50:17 AM
I'd be cool with Ron if he matched his record at KSU.

1997-98 Minnesota 3-9 .250
1998-99 Minnesota 5-6 .455
1999-00 Minnesota 8-4 .667  Sun Bowl
2000-01 Minnesota 6-6 .500  Micronpc.com Bowl
2001-02 Minnesota 4-7 .364
2002-03 Minnesota 8-5 .615
2003-04 Minnesota 10-3 .769
2004-05 Minnesota 7-5 .583  Music City Bowl
2005-06 Minnesota 7-5 .583
2006-07 Minnesota 6-7 .462

Minnesota is currently 1-10, FWIW.

6-7 wins should be down years, 8 wins should be the goal every year.

6-7 was a down year for Glen.

He went to bowls 7 of 8 years.  That's good.

Ouch, that's bad.

What was GB's?
Title: Re: Glen Mason at Minnesota.
Post by: catzacker on November 14, 2007, 10:25:07 AM
GB was 34-22 in conference.  1 Big12 Championship, 4 Big 12 North Titles.

I would fire Ron and hire Gary in a second, if that was feasible/realistic.

I agree, too.  I'm just saying Glen's OVERALL record is good enough for me.

I mean, I'd rather have Mack Brown than Gary Barnett, too.

Meh.  There's lots of coaches out there that have a mediocre overall record.  Our coach right now will probably end up having one.  GB went 49-38 overall at CU, so that means he went 15-16 in the OOC.  But his conference record was fantastic.

overall record is stupid with the variabilities in ooc's sched's.

i mean mangino is 35-35 overall....but 17-29 in conference.

Gary my man!

I would like some Barnett in my life.

It would be extra cool if he like changed our colors and made our mascot into a charging buff with a Wildcat head on.  Like Holtaus' obsession with L.J. aka Minotaur.

That would be sweet.

That and female kickers and rape raps.

Bring it ON! :woot:

Do you LOL when Mitch says things like "in his grill" and "how he rolls" and other "trying to be black"/"trying to be hip" (really the same thing) phrases?

I do.

He's been to 2 schools that don't support athletics and won or had some success.  If Gary called KSU and said "I would sign a contract to be your football coach, starting on Nov. 25th if you fax me a contract in 3 minutes" ADTW should stumble overhimself trying to fax the contract to Gary.

You can't recruit to KSU.

Northwestern doesn't care about athletics

Colorado doesn't care about athletics.

ADTW would not do what you described, either, because of "fit" (:yuck:).  He should though.

I do.

He has an excellent "Grrrrr" to his voice.  A nice, not too subtle, not too over the top "man note" to his voice.  It is like a bear on edge that is searching for lunch after missing breakfast.  Not a warning, more of the verbal extension of an inner dialogue.

Like an idling Harley with a finely tuned exhaust.

The "Price Chopper" and "Jazz" (I literally had no idea that "Jazzzzzz" was the name of the restaurant for the first like 5-6 listens of that 810 promo) are OVER the top.

Mitch does it best.  I bet he has one hell of a Wildcat growl.  Prince would love it.  In fact, why don't we bring in Mitch for a 7 figure salary to do play-by-play, color, recruiting co-ordinator, senior exec of scouting and have Stan and Wyatt replace Wolters on the sidelines.  We could have dual sideline coverage.

I should be K-State's "idea man."  I "think big."

For some reason, if this was Prince's 4th year, I wouldn't put it past ADTW going after Gary....he did go after Huggins (we'd just need some ex-football coach not named Snyder to help in the search or maybe Fogler knows Barnett).....but right now ADTW wouldn't do it because of the timing.  IMO, it would be ballsy, but if through some back channels, Gary said he'd accept, the deal should be done.  The KSU fan base would meltdown though.  And the national media would fry our administration for obvious reasons (but we were willing to take the heat for Huggins).

It would look kind of bad to fire a black guy that won more games than the two years prior to his arrival and have a white guy (with a bad reputation) immediately ready to replace him.

Way different from Huggins.

Which is why someone needs to drug Ron and take some some Eustachy(sp)-esque photos, so we can fire him with cause and then hire Gary to clean up our image.

If Aggieville had a strip club, I can't imagine how many stories would've contained some variation of "...so then I look over and Mike Stoops is doing a line of coke off the girl's leg".

Can you imagine what it would be like to be a football program in Miami?  When we have had multiple off-season arrests in Manhattan?

Thinking about it, aren't we all surprised that there hasn't been a 10-20 player take down by the DEA for narco-trafficing in conjunction with unauthorized "boosters?"  If I were a legit Miami fan, I would live in constant, paralyzing fear or create some sort of indestructible strong bubble of denial to live in.

Exhibit A.:  Michael Irvin.
