Title: ku and OU with 1st and 3rd weakest schedules in the Big 12 . . .
Post by: sonofdaxjones on November 13, 2007, 03:51:05 PM
both ranked in the BCS Top 5.   Playing a tougher schedule doesn't pay anymore, and ku and OU are the embodiment of that reality.

Both will play 8 home games this year as well.

FYI . . . there still plenty of tickets available for the ku vs ISU game.  Biggest game on the ku campus in 12 years, and there's still tickets left less than 4 days prior to kickoff.

Well I guess that's one way to find something negative out of 10-0 and #3 in the BCS.

bottom line, and this has been true since forever, SOS only hurts you if you lose.

Go undefeated and you don't worry about it, lose 1-2 games and worry about it.

Negative??  Geezus you're such a hyper reactive defensive little bitch.  There's nothing negative at all about my post.

1.  You're taking a shot at Kansas' non-con schedule

2.  You're taking a shot at Kansas fans because the Iowa State game isn't a sellout... yet.

Only a dumbass like you would think that.  I am merely saying playing a tough schedule doesn't pay.

2.  You're taking a shot at Kansas fans because the Iowa State game isn't a sellout... yet.

True . . . but that had nothing to do with the main topic of the post, but then again, you're a dumbass.

ku schedule is ranked like 86th in the nation.

ku will sell out the ISU game.

Maybe if Ron Prince wasn't an incompetent moron, he would have realized K-State's limitations and scheduled a cupcake at home instead of going on the road and losing to Auburn.  That puts K-State at 6-4 and bowl eligible.

As vanro said, the Iowa State game will be a sellout.

Isn't weird how most morons are incompetent?  I just mentioning to a friend of mine last week about how almost every moron I run into is incompotent....

That doesn't make our team better, or appear better after a 73-35 game or whatever the score was.

First of all we all know that Van moonlights working a glory hole at a I-70 truck stop in Lawrence so his opinion on this matter doesn't really count.

Next, you're really not offending me with your shots at Prince, because I halfway agree.   But my original post was just a general statement about college football using ku and OU as examples; and of course you being the soiled tampon that you are think it was a shot at ku.

Edited for Cire

I love Ron's scheduling.

I also like the fact that we are going out and doing something with our non-cons but obviously, losing one of four or two of four does not help our team in any way.

I'd rather have the W.

I hate the Fresno game, but that was the Former Legendary Gray Old Idiot's game.

Those games are just stupid.

I tend to agree Rusty . . . but until a true SOS component is put back into BCS rankings it doesn't pay.

It pays in exposure, which pays in recruiting.  And it's more fun.

You also missed the fact that ku SOS is 86th out of 1xx...

Honestly, there's no reason to schedule more than 1 road game in the non-con.  I actually like the Auburn game better than the Fresno game because (a) Auburn was the first game of the season, and you know their offense was going to struggle early on, and (b) Auburn is in a BCS conference.  Fresno St. could end up being a really tough game that late in the season.

I think he was taking shots at the entire schedule (ukan has played the worst defenses in the Big, and - save OSU - the worst offenses).  Granted, that's fate/luck...but when look down the schedule to see who they beat its -- hmm, they suck, they suck, their not so good, they blow, down year, etc.  In my book, ukan is one of the leagues top 5 teams, but has yet to play a top 5 team to sort things out.  Obviously will change in two weeks.

The Auburn game was the only reason anyone talked about us going into Texas. We got a lot of positive exposure for that game. The Fresno game pisses me off to no end, though.

Nothing wrong with that game. Something has dramatically changed with K-State from week 1 to this point in the season.

K-State is a good team, but they're in a funk right now. :\
