Title: Most dissapointing JUCO, last two years...
Post by: Keys1313 on November 13, 2007, 08:32:06 AM
For me its Patterson.  A skinnier, faster Marvin Simmons IMO (looks great, lots of hype...no substance).

Ernie Pierce

Seriously does he have 1 catch?

I was thinking alasana...maybe these other guys only have one catch, but alasana is the worst player out of all of them.  At least if they aren't in the game, they aren't screwing everything up.

good god.

Alesana took way to much crap for the Auburn game, his first real game up against a monster.  I think he's done a pretty serviceable job for the most part.

"serviceable job"

You have to be kidding; about 98% (not actual statistic) of the sacks on Freeman are his fault. Every time that he misses a block he is either looking at the play getting blown up, or standing there not knowing what to do. If you miss a block at least hit someone!  Vanro's picture pretty much sums up every thing that is wrong with Alesana.

Patterson - just wait, guys :curse:
Pierce - too good looking to be good (although Freeman is really good looking, and he is great)
Manu - meh...prob not "3-4"
Abana - just wait, guys :curse:
Wilson - sucks but thought he would suck anyways

Alesana is not that bad. Considering the rest of the line, he isnt the worst.

LUI is much worse.

Which makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with Stringer. Does he suck that bad that he can't beat out Lui or is Stringer injured again?

It seems like there was a game (Baylor?) where Stringer replaced Liu for most of the game.

I think Pierce is the most disappointing based on the fact that in 06' we subbed everyone under the sun in games especially late in the year.  Morreira was out, Nelson was hurt and so it seems like everybody got a chance to play and they stepped up and performed solidly.  Pierce not even being able to challenge Gonzo for playing time hurts.  He's also been here since late spring!

Abana is also disappointing just based on his size.  6'5" 280.  The guy is perfect for a 3-4 defense size wize, I suppose he just needs to hit the weight room.   Two Cents

For the Prince fans , talent evaluation hasn't been top notch. Time will tell.

Mangino had it.  he was what ,  6-6 last season.   They stayed the course and good things happened.

My problem with Prince is that he's young and was supposed to be really good recruiter.

I don't see it.

juco's are so hit and miss. some of the first year juco's this year; pierce, abana, patterson, i will give them this year. if they haven't started to show something by spring in august practices then yea they suck.
i tend to lean towards pierce sucking cause he has shown nothing, the other two i still think they could end up contributing...we'll see.

Alesana without question - so many IDIOT plays, so little time. I will give you all one example of many that have cost us DEARLY!

Remember in the Fighting Mangina game when we were driving in the first quarter... all that momentum... BAM, we got Alesanaed 2 Personal foul/hands to the face calls IN A ROW!!! 15 yds each - thanks Alesana... you look like a bad-ass fighting another guy in full pads, JACKASS! I dont know ANYONE who is worse at his perspective position.

I still have faith in SMOKE!

I'd have to go with Pierce or Abana, mainly because they have done absolutely nothing...Manu, Wilson, and Patterson have at least done something.

And calling a player that has started every game in year 1 in the program a "disappointment" is kind of stupid.

My goodness.

Evaluations for juco players are now being formed 10 games into their first year?

Anyone on the o line.  Our offense it good aside from them.  We can't set up rushed because of them and Freeman gets at least 2 seconds less to throw per play.
