rusty, sarcasm noted but what about a power running game that keeps the ball from the other team and drains the clock to make a short game.

I think Ganz just proved Rusty's point about a having a great passing game.   Ganz had fun throwing into coverage holes all day.

I bet his arm is tired.

Freeman's legs I bet are tired too.

That would be awesome! Can you go out and find us 5 new O-linemen capable of doing the job, plz? Thx.

The offense didn't score 31... not when it mattered. it scored 10. the game was over by halftime. garbage points only mean something if the scrubs score them, in my opinion.
But, no turnovers. The offense didn't give away any points. Just couldn't generate any points.
The defense, though, couldn't stop NU - even if it was only Ganz and Lucky out there playing catch.

But, does it really matter who's at fault. 73-31. Everything on this team needs to be dissected - coaches, players, schemes, conditioning, everything.

No offense should be expected to score 24+ points in the first half just to keep a game competitive.   :blank:

I'm on the fence about the offense in the game. No turnovers, played ok. But, dropped passes, poor QB protection, and an inconsistent running game didn't do anything to save the maligned defense.
No, the offense shouldn't have score 24+ first half points to keep it close, but that's an unfortunate reality with this team.
The offense (and this includes the coaches) need to admit that the defense should be on the field time as little as possible and construct a game plan to limit how often the defense is out there. The offense is going to be in a shootout the final two games, or at least, it should be a shootout (thought today's game would be).
