Rusty, where's our "Welcome Thread".

You know where you post:

WELCOME ZACH!  Woo hoo!  I'm a 30 year old man sitting at a computer!  Woo hoo!  We love 17 year old kids making decisions!  Yeah!

:)

Are you sharing gp.com premium info?

I'm telling!

Seriously, though.  That new site is pretty sweet.

New site = Awesome.  No doubt.

I'm just not big on the welcome posts on GP.  Seems kind of silly to me, maybe one of the kids will sign up premium to read that.

You couldn't post it on the free board.  That is strictly for flames.

I had a pretty good OFFICIAL Tyrel Reed love thread on the old site.  Maybe you could get a good one started on this one.

Is there a "members online" feature for this BBS?  We've got to be approaching 2% of the number that's on GP right now. :)  GP is kind of slow today, but its understandable.

As far as welcoming, don't think I'll go there.  Not a big fan.

I was one of the first to post that we were on track to get Pervis Pasco in purple though, but no love threads. :)

It's going to be a whole new ballgame.

I literally traded emails back and forth yesterday with Coach Prince.

It was incredible.

Yeah, it is kind of like being caught in a time warp.  K-State football coverage enters the 21st century.

I looked at a couple sites (OU, USC, UT, South Carolina), and USC is the only site that even comes close to our new one.

Does anyone want to give their X's and O's comments on the rercruits videos?

Thanks.

How ironic... I was one of the first to post what a dumbass he was after running down the court with the ball only to cost us the game.

I've watched a few videos, but there is no way to really assess a player by half a dozen shots.  Your getting highlights, so they're going to show the kid at his best.  You can see some speed, power, change of direction, footwork, etc., but its very limited.

To truely look at what you've got you need whole game films, probably several of them.  Then you look for things like how consistent is this guy?  Does he string great plays together?  Does he take plays off?  Does he make plays when the game is on the line?  Is he durable?  Is he a leader?  Does he makes his teammates better?

When you look at those you have no idea what kind of competition the kid is playing as well.  He may look really fast or strong based on who he is playing.

Not saying there is no merit to them, and they are enjoyable to watch, but those folks projecting what a kid will be based on a dozen plays are silly at best.

One thing we do know:

D1 prospects playing 8-man make for kickass videos.

It was a touchdown pass.
