Title: Royals
Post by: QuinnMac on November 09, 2007, 12:11:59 PM
The organization claims to be looking toward free agency this year, and not so much trades.
I think there are upgrades for right-handed power hitting, that wouldn't command too much.

Pat Burrell
Jason Bay
Josh Willingham
Marcus Thames

One of these 4 would help dramatically with the lack of RH power on the team.

If the Border Patrol crew on 810 knows anything it sounds like they're looking at Jose Guillen.

I was thinking trade lines, but yes as a free agent they are looking a Guillen whether he gets to play due to the steroid allegations is yet to be known.

I wouldn't mind Willingham with Buck as backup.  Burrell strikes out too much.

Got Guillen

Now need to go after and get, A. Jones, K. Fukudome, A. kuroda.

If one of the two outfielders is netted.  It would be time to trade Teahen or DeJesus, which ever brought back more, in terms of prospects.

side note:  The powder blue uniforms are back as an alternate for 2008, will be unveiled tomorrow.

My guess is Dejesus would bring more even though Teabag has more upside.  CFers are in much shorter supplies.  Now if a team took Teahen and returned him to 3B, that would be a different story.

I really thought Burrell would be one hell of a player after watching him play for Miami.  I think he's too much of a FP though.  Him and JD Drew need to write a book together, or at least put out an infomercial.  Kinda like that AAU back-to-back-to-back national champions thing, but with seasons spent spent on the DL instead.

I would prefer the powder blues with white lettering instead of the royal blue.  More traditional.

The Guillen signing was AWFUL.  Just terrible.

The Royals suck and will always suck.

Meanwhile, the Tigers have put together the best lineup in baseball and perhaps the best young rotation in the majors.

With Gathwright, Guillen, Teahen, and DeJesus I think they will be alright in the outfield.  Just serioiusly need some starting pitchers.  I am a clubbie for the double A team and I got to watch Hochaver a lot and he is pretty good.  He will most likely be up in the bigs next year and maybe a couple other triple A guys.

Unfortunatly yes, we are going to be about 10 min outside of the University of Arkansas so that will make it a bit better.  I'm excited about the new stadium and I'm hoping Arkansas just gets a bad rep.

Springdale is in a really beautiful part of the country, the Razorback "mountains" are incredible.  There's also a ton of money in that area, (thanks to Wal-Mart, among others) so there's no shortage of nice restaraunts, etc.  Did Josh Robertson end up staying with the club?  I hadn't heard if he was staying with Wichita Baseball, or heading to Ark.

No he is staying with the almighty Wichita Wingnuts.  My dad runs the NBC tournament so thats how I got the job in the first place so I get all the inside info I need.  Josh is going to stay because of family reasons.  Do you know Josh?  I am excited about Springdale because of the facilities and the proximity of UofA but other than that I'm not really excited about moving there.  I am more excited about moving to Arizona for spring training and meeting all the local girls I can.

I grew up, and played baseball, with one of his little brothers.  Don't know Josh too well, he is quite a bit older than me, so he wasn't around much.  I did watch him catch at Friends a few times.  Is Jerry Taylor still affiliated with the NBC?  That mofo cracks me up.

I played at NW.  Anyway, he was always hanging around the fields, BSing with Coach Murray and telling dirty jokes.  He used to always talk about hanging around at Hooters and drinking too much "coffee."  Funny ass mother &@#%er.

I always hear he was a cool mofo in school.  He was a hard ass growing up but he's cool now.  Yeah he is still doing the NBC thing and is currently working for the Thunder.  Did you play FB for him?

No, just baseball.  Even then, I don't think he was actually a coach. (?)  I think he took over the JV pogram my sophomore year, when the JV coach took over the varsity coach.  I don't remember exactly, luckily I didn't have to play JV after the first half of my freshman year.
