since garth brooks came to down, it has everyone high on concert talk.
got me to think. what was your first show?
what was your most memorable one?
ill start it off.
I saw huey lewis and the news in 1984. i was under 8 so it was okay.
since, ive seen: (not going to count festivals..too complicated)
nirvana
stp
PJ
ween
white stripes
lauren hill (fugee era)
ben folds
ani difranco
bjork
bowie
willie and dylan
..and more. (just wanted to list a few to get the huey outta my mouth)

Alabama < LOL at my parents taking me to country music concerts constantly
-
The first, was:
No Doubt
Goo Goo Dolls
Bush
I was a freshman in high school, and really into the grunge stuff, so Bush was awesome. Goo Goo Dolls were still kind of a "hard rock band", and "I'm just a Girl" had just started blowing up, and No Doubt opened.
Pretty fun for a 14 year old.
And it's kind of funny how the popularity of the bands flipped...Bush, who was the headliner, is completely irrelevant, and there aren't many stars bigger than Gwen Stefani (Holla Back Girl ()).
-
God I so kick the crap outta you young bucks. First concert: circa 74'
Bachman Turner Overdrive (BTO by a more common name) - lead band for the show
Styx - just released Styx II, the album with "Lady" that made their announcement on the scene
Bob Seger - a guy none of us had ever heard of, we all left with a new favorite artist (seen him 3 times over the years).
-
u2 fall 2000. had to miss a ksu bball game vs tenn-martin

I was in middle school and saw blonde redhead, foo fighters and red hot chili peppers at bonner springs. very solid first show ever, had me hooked on live shows until i realized that was just a uncharacteristically awesome line up.

Oh, didn't read the whole post.
Willie Nelson was probably my favorite concert.
Pantera/White Zombie/Deftones was the craziest.

Soul Coughing was cool, it was at an outdoor festival.
Primus was fun, I was &@#%ed up and jumped the fence over to the seated section and this crazy bitch in a skirt suit and heels chased me out and hit me in the face. I was too &@#%ed up to defend myself or retaliate. :frown:
yeah-FP and team cancer.
