Some f'ing perspective is that when you dig yourself a 14 point hole, don't stop the run AND turn the ball over 3 times (two times when your receivers can't catch the ball and the other when you give them a 32 yard field), on the road.....You're going to lose.

Good point.  We've been very mediocre for a long time.

To be fair, I'd rather be mediocre the way under snyder, rather the way we have been under Prince.

I was getting a little bored of the consistency.  The more drastic ups and downs are something new, at least.

I disagree.  At least we have a coach that demands accountability from his players and coaches.  Our mediocrity in Snyder's last two years was the kind where we didn't even have a chance to win many games because of some players and coaches going through the motions.  Every game on our schedule this year has actually been winnable if we play well and avoid mistakes.

Can you elaborate on the difference you perceive?

Are you serious?  Do you even watch or go to the games?  If you did you'd see Prince chewing his ass up and down on a consistent basis.

If Bill wasn't such a F*CKING PUSSY maybe our program wouldn't be where it is right now.

Seriously, you have no idea what you're talking about when you say Prince is babying Freeman this year.  No idea at all.

So your solution to Freeman and the offense averaging 36.7 ppg this year (which is a touch higher right now than '03's average) is to rip into him more?  He's ripped into Freeman when it's needed.  And it was more than twice.  And he's being tearing into him on the sidelines all year long.

Yeah.  And if he'd never come to Manhattan, you guys would still likely be the worst program in all of college football.

I should have qualified that by saying towards the backend of his career. He forgot about the recruiting aspect of football and the aspect of having good coordinators and assistant coaches.

Yeah that's a pretty impressive average of points... in one of the WEAKEST/INCONSISTANT divisions in the country. I dont like the roller coaster either - but Freeman is getting better. That is all that counts IMO. So is Jordy. Some of the only real talent we have is actually looking good. However, Snyder did leave us with a bunch of hacks and FPs in regards to players.

Here is the scariest scenario - this team without Freeman this year. WHOLY FU*K, I think I am going to puke.

You just revealed that you don't travel...because Prince has chewed Josh's a$$ out on the sidelines...particularly when he forced a throw that ended up being an ISU return for a TD. That was the game imho.

First off, I don't think Freeman is the problem with this team.  But, as long as we are on the topic, I do think the Freeman situation was poorly handled.  As much as Prince might yell at him now, Freeman knows he he will never be benched, so Prince has totally undermined himself in trying to motivate/coach Josh.

Here's what I mean: circumstancial evidence indicates Freeman was promised that he would start as a true freshman when he was recruited (i.e., rumors from Nebraska, Freeman actually started as a freshman, and Evridge and Lopina left for unknown reasons).  Even if not true, it doesn't matter, because Josh actually was handed the reins of the football team without proving he was ready -- after going 3-14 with an INT and no TDs while a back-up.  In his first game he throws 3 more INTs, but he keeps playing, and Meier never sees the field again except for one trick play.  Even during his total melt-down at ku last year, Prince never sat Freeman.  On the other hand, this year Coffman gets pulled after fumbling once.  (I also didn't like that Prince let the AD issue a Josh Freeman player card this year.)  Freeman can obviously see he benefits from a double standard.  Again, I don't think Freeman is the problem with this team, but I do think this is bad coaching by Prince, and it has perhaps kept Josh from being motivated to become the best player he can be.
