Title: Candy philosophy
Post by: chum1 on October 31, 2007, 09:23:53 PM
Chocolate candies rule over all non-chocolate candies.  Don't even bother eating non-chocolate candies.  If you're going to consume too many calories by eating candy, you might as well have the kind that rules.

Mike Beasley disagrees with you.

True. But I can enjoy some pull'n'peel twizzlers or some Starbursts every now and then.

Agreed with the above.  Also agree with the anti-sweettardish camp.  I enjoy gummy bears as a change of pace.  Also, you sometimes hit that house that has caramel apples or popcorn balls.  Those are nice but must be eaten immediately as they don't do well rolling around in your bag.

Personally I liked chocolate as a kid, but now I hardly eat candy.  I drink pop and Red Bull now, which I didn't as a kid.  I would've liked a nice dollop of mashed potatoes or a turkey leg instead of candy when I was a kid.

My parents only took us to houses of people that we knew.  so we would get a fair to poor amount/quality of candy.  My fav was always anything that had peanut butter with chocolate.  And it always happened that we'd go to all the old ladies homes that went to our church.  So we always got TONS of popcorn balls and candy/caramel apples.     One lady even gave us bags of regular popcorn.     :yuck: Long story short, my Halloween take as a child was never as good as my fellow classmates.

KK, I'm with you. I don't even really like candy. I don't hate it either, I guess, but I never buy it for myself.

Give me a pop with a salty snack (Cheez-Its used to be my thing, but now I've sort of migrated to Goldfish) over sweet candy any day of the week.

Unless that salty snack is peanuts, in which case I will throw up in your face.

It's all about 3 kinds of candy:

Hot Tamales*
Haribo Gummy Bears**

and to a lesser extent:
Jujyfruit

* - WTF happened to Hot Tamales Fire?  I can't find them anymore, and the Ice ones suck
** - All other brands of Gummy Bears suck compared to Haribo

yesterday for lunch, we had a ton of reeses pb cups left over from trick or treaters. i put two of them and some of my moms homemade apricot jelly on a sandwich, lightly buttered and fried the sandwich. the results were amazing, the chocolate melted and oozed into the places the pb did not. as a warning though, you might look out of the hot chocolate dripping and burning your face.

LOL How stoned were you?  I once put cut up hotdogs into a tortilla with mustard and hot sauce and cooked it like a quesadilla.

That sounds like something I would do.  And at the same time my wife would be looking at me like I was completely out of my mind.
