If/when that happens, the season will have played out better than anyone expected it to. Right now, we are about where I thought we would be. I just thought our wins and losses would be flipped with losses to UT and CU and wins against ku and OSU.
Baylor: LOL
@ ISU: LOL
@ NU: Hey, it's in Lincoln, but that didn't stop OSU (who we should have beat) from bending them over in their own house. We will do the same if not worse to them.
MU: For the Big 12 North title.
Keep the faith people. This thing is far from over.

True. This isn't the rock bottom feeling I had in the middle of last season.

We're going to be playing MU for the north title? :koolaid:
Who is going to knock three wins away from the Jayhawks between now and then?

A&M, OSU & MU. All three are solid opponents and all three games are away from Lawrence. Hey, a man can dream, can't he?

qft. however, we can play for a "share" of the title.

Consolation North Trophy > No North Trophy

Who honestly thought we'd be playing for the north this year anyways? It was supposed to be between Nebraska and Missouri.

we're good enough to win the division. that's why it hurts.

IMO, defense isn't there yet.

Even if ku only loses 2, there is the possibility of the three way tie scenario with ku, MU and KSU all being 6-2 and having the head to head wins over each other (ku over KSU, MU over ku, KSU over MU) I'm not sure what the next tiebreaker is, but that would be another scenario where KSU could sneak into the CCG. Really can't lose another game to make that happen though.

that's a pretty low fbiq statement right there. if we were good enough to win the division we wouldn't have lost the games the way we have. the division just sucks right now, there's really nothing 'good' about it.

Don't you dare question my FBIQ you sick son of a bitch.
-
Best to just hope for 8 wins (probably end up with 7). Having hope for winning the north is like having hope for Arthur Brown.

i'm assuming you hit the nyquil a little extra last night and haven't fully woken up on this cold fall morning.

Steve Pederson would fire you.

I had the Nebraska game as our 3rd loss in my preseason prediction of 9-3. Given the way this season has played out I do think we can run the table with wins over Baylor and at Iowa State and at Nebraska at this point. I still think the MU game will be huge by the time it gets here.
I think the worst case scenario at this point is 8-4.

I don't think you understand what worst case means

Yeah, this team is capable of finishing 6-6. I think 7-5 or 8-4 are probably the most realistic possibilities at this point.

And they're capable of 9-3 as well. What's your point?

They are capeable of a lot of things, whether they do them or not is what we are all about this year. I will tell you all this, we play like we did vs OSU - we are a 4-8 team. We have become what we detest the most, we have become ku... a team that can look good at some points and then hand the game over to the opponent on a freaking silver platter. No you say? OK, in our three losses - all we had to do is hold on at the end, and we didn't. Boys, we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory THREE TIMES and that is the $hitty part about the whole thing.

If we "play like we did vs OSU" against Baylor, Iowa State, and Nebraska we go 3-0 in that stretch. None of those teams will score more than 39 against us, even with some mistakes, and all are better match-ups (vs our defense) than OSU.

MU vs. ku in Arrowhead decides the North. Really.
Or, if we're forced to sit as spoiler and let ku win the North by knocking off Mizzou at home I say we shave points and let Pinkel have the "W".
