My vote is the 45-17 loss to ISU.
-
When has it left the bottom? :ksu:
-
Too hard to tell. They all sucked big time.
p.s. What about '05 CU? Moreira stays away from that damn punt, probably go to a bowl.
-
05 ISU's a pretty good one.
AE was healthy then, right?

Yeah, he played the whole game. If anyone was at the game they will remember it took us 8 plays to score from 3 yards out.
My brother and I walked out of that game beyond depressed. I thought my life was over.

Rock Bottom was reached when KSU lost to Austin Peay who ran the same play twice to win the game . . . from there, it just scrapped along the bottom for a few more years.
You can sure tell Fatty is a youngster with this poll.

The '04 Fresno game was the begininng of the slide to the bottom (in terms of on field performance). But for me, while maybe not rock bottom, the '05 OU game in Norman when the punter was not on the field was the biggest WTF moment....that's when I thought (even sitting at 3-0 going into that game) that there's no way Bill will turn this back around.
-
rock bottom would be the year before KSUCK made a bowl game....100 years without making a post-season game
-
dax, he's no talking about it historically. I'm confident fatty might, just might be aware that KSU was far worse pre-Snyder than any of the choices above.

That was play that you had to ask "what the hell they smoking". It was a classic play.

I admit, that was even worse than the swing pass from the endzone call from Callahan a couple of years ago.

Great play, poor execution. I blame Steve Pederson.. :runaway:

You forgot 1987-1988.

I want to clarify something about the dates.
Many of you here have never known KSU football other than Snyder. It's a great feeling and blessing to know he came to us and made the program what it is and to have a generation of fans that knew nothing but successful football.
So to me, KSU football has never reached rock bottom since Snyder came on. You want to talk about rock bottom, try sitting in a KSU stadium that is much worse than it is now and then seeing what it has become. You never forget where you come from, so from the perspective of some of you, rock bottom is a loss to Iowa state. For some of us, rock bottom was never even winning a game over seasons and the high point before Snyder was 1982, when we got 6 wins and a bowl game.
Other than that, 4 wins was a very successful season, average was 2 and bad was 0 wins.

rock bottom would be the year before KSU Wildcats made a bowl game....100 years without making a post-season game
How are those back to back bowl seasons going? Oops...my bad - you wouldn't know

Actually, in 1981, was considered a sacrifice year. Coach Dickey chose to redshirt a class of seniors so that he could make a run in 1982. It allowed the younger players to play and get experience so that when the seniors did come back, the whole team would benefit. It was quite a gamble, but it worked. Unfortunately, he didn't do well the next couple of years and was fired in the middle of the season in 1984 and Les Moon took over, won one game, then it just spiraled from there. From 1985-1987, it was the Stan Parrish years.. where rock bottom truly was reached.

Well, I'd say that rock bottom JUST FOR LAST YEAR (2006) was at ku or the Texas Bowl / Rutgers debacle(s).
Take your pick (pardon the pun).

Yup. Then some FP, TC blew himself up outside the stadium and I got so drunk I am still hungover.

Yeah, a lot of people thought that was fatty.

2004 Fresno State. The first time we got physically destroyed in our own house in years.

Crap...I remember when beating Iowa State was a sign of real progress in the program. Beating them twice was awesome.....fatty is so spoiled.

Remember the fight before the game? I thought we were all going to :chainsaw: them...
After that, nothing really surprised me.
04 ku sucked big time though...

I remember Bret Jones (?) intercepted the first pass of the game and ran it in. Then we proceeded to get walked all over.
Bret Jones was really bad too.

I think when we snapped the ball through the end zone because the punter wasn't out on the field...on national television...yeah that was probably it for me.

QFMFT The AP loss felt worse than A&M
Losing to WSU was almost as bad :censor:

Okay. If you were to ask the top of the mountain for KSu basketball I would answer the 2006-2007 NIT appearance where our coach promptly bailed on us.
So it goes both ways?

05 OU was my first non-ku away game. :blindfold:
We were talking so much trash that game. OU was 2-1, with a loss to tcu and a near loss to Tulsa. We were 3-0. Adrian Peterson got hurt in mid-game. We were so sure we were going to win.
It went downhill so fast. When we hiked the ball through the endzone, I stared blankly before screaming "WTF JUST HAPPENED?" After that, I sat down and shut up.
Side note..I remember the the noise when the kid blew himself up. I was looking around confused, but none of the sooner fans seemed to notice or care. I figured "When the locals start running, then I'll worry."

The moment in time when Snyder thought Dylan Meier was a quarterback and deserved a scholarship offer.

Basketball has never been as strong as it was during the Hartman/Kruger years. If Martin can surpass that, then Huggin's tenure would be more like a walk up a hill.

I don't recall that happening. When did it happen?

MJROD, thanks for breaking that down for me - I wasn't a KSU fan until 1995 and honestly, I felt like I was in the land of milk and honey from '95 to '03 and we haven't looked at the end of Snyderdom - but you made it clear to me, to watch what I wish for. WOW, I only heard rumors of what is was like back then - free entry at halftime, our OWN fans chanting: "RUN, RUN, PASS, PUNT - RUN, RUN, PASS PUNT" Spoiled - no question! Here's to getting spoiled again!

It was when the final gun blew and the Austin Pee players gathered at midfield and mock-fornicated our wildcat.
Things just got better and better after that, although it didn't seem so at the time.
