Callers actually thanking god for the firing of Pederson.

So Tom Osborne will be coaching Vanro . . . sorry but the days of unlimited scholarships and schools like KSU not spending any money on football aren't walking through that door.

Can't think that far back. Although, that was with the "Husker System" in place for decades. Now that it's been dismantled, it will take a long time to fix their problems. :violin:

Osborne is definitely Old School.  CFB has become much more big time and corporate to an extent since he retired.  Alot has changed, can Dr. Tom evolve?

No coaching.. advisory position..

He's 70 and I think trying to get back into coaching full time would be bad for him..

Again, it's just not the same league anymore, athletic budgets across the entire Big 12 are up 300-500% since Tom Osborne retired.   School's like MU, ku and KSU now spend just as much on football as NU does, A&M, Texas and OU outspend NU.

So he's going to coach? Or are you douchebags going to run the Power-I again? Your team blows...should have listened.

P.S. Why did you bitch out of the warzone?

I think the hardest pill for all of Corn land to swallow is that maybe (and its a huge maybe) they are starting to realise that they are NEVER going to dominate and be able to rule long term like they did in the 70's 80's and early 90's. Those days are over for everybody. Maybe a good recruiting class will take you on a three year run or so once they get back to respectability. But long, long, long, gone are the days of the 100+ scholarship athletes, a team full of partial qualifiers, and 60 walk-ons a year. And You don't scare anybody anymore. Welcome to earth as the rest of us know it Nebraska fans.

The best NU can hope for is what OU is going through right now. A good team with a close loss to add blemishes to the record. ..but NU is an average to bad team with alot of problems with tackling and general anemic apathy on defense. They played poorly in Ames...should have smelled the implosion.

It used to be NU spent 2 or 3 times as much on football as KSU, ku or MU, now it might be 20% more, and that's mainly to pay for an overpaid staff.  Last year KSU spent $9 million on football, NU spent $11 million, MU spent $14 million.  Source EADA report.

NU . . . millions of dollars in debt, barely finishing fiscal years in the black.

ku and KSU millions of dollars in the black.
